Description
SCP-003 - Biological Motherboard

Object Class: Euclid

Special conditions: SCP-003 should be stored at a constant temperature of at least 35°C, preferably above 100 °C. It is forbidden to contact the object with any living multicellular organism, the complexity category of which is IV or higher.

If, as a result of a complete power outage, SCP-003-1 begins to build up mass, the designated employee should establish and maintain bodily contact with SCP-003-1. Ideally, an employee can heat SCP-003-1 with his body heat to a temperature above the critical mark, however, contact should be maintained even if SCP-003 reaches the activation temperature, and not be severed at least until SCP-003-1 fully transitions to the second stage of growth.

Employees entering the storage room of SCP-003 are subject to preliminary examination for the presence of bodily parasites of complexity category IV or higher and, if found, decontamination. All employees who have come into physical contact with SCP-003-1 should immediately report it and undergo decontamination.

It is forbidden to remove SCP-003-1 from SCP-003-2 except in cases of emergency procedures described above. Any significant changes in the activity of SCP-003-2 runes (including changes in the sequence, frequency and color of their glow) should be reported no later than 3 hours after occurrence. Cases of termination of rune activity should be reported immediately. SCP-003-2 should be continuously energized using a power source designated as Generator 003-IX.

Description: SCP-003 consists of two interconnected objects of different origins, which are further designated as SCP-003-1 and SCP-003-2.

SCP-003-1 consists of chitin, hair and nails of an unknown biological species, bonded into a structure similar to a computer motherboard. Research has shown that SCP-003-1 appeared thousands of years before the very first printed circuit boards. The object is considered to have consciousness, but, except for certain conditions, is not dangerous.

SCP-003-1 was found on a stone slab, SCP-003-2, on which it is currently located. The runes on the slab are not part of any known language and flicker with a pale light in a certain sequence.

SCP-003-2 is controlled by an internal computer (not biological), the device of which cannot be examined without the risk of damage to SCP-003-2. SCP-003-2 is capable of producing controlled emissions of radiation, including emissions of heat, light and abnormal radiation. SCP-003-2 contains an internal power supply of an anomalous nature, which seems to have started to run out several centuries before the object was discovered.

It is considered likely that SCP-003-2 was created for the purpose of holding SCP-003-1. Partially translated data obtained from SCP-003-2 may indicate an LK class restructuring event caused by SCP-003-1 that occurred in the past or may occur in the future.

SCP-003 was detected by remote surveillance by the SRV-04 Beta team. It is possible that SCP-003-2 deliberately contacted SRV-04 Beta. Other organizations were also alerted to the existence of SCP-003, presumably in the same way. Despite this manifestation of activity, SCP-003-2 does not seem to be reasonable - such a conclusion can be drawn based on the lack of reactions on its part to the studies and procedures of M03-Gloria.

When the temperature drops below 35°C, both parts of the object are activated.

First, SCP-003-1 goes into a state of growth, which is expressed in an exponential increase in mass. This condition is divided into two stages. In both stages, SCP-003-1 partially supports the growth process by transforming the surrounding matter, starting with inorganic materials (including elements of the atmosphere), and then moving on to inanimate organic matter: dead skin, hair, chitin, enamel, keratin and other organic materials.

The first stage always proceeds the same way. First, SCP-003-1 increases its mass, then takes a shape similar to an ophiura (snake tail) of fifteen meters in diameter (what, apparently, should be a central processor, in this case has three meters in diameter). Sensory organs are formed, which begin to explore the environment, and the space around the object partially turns into an unknown abnormal substance (SCP-003-2 itself is not subject to such a transformation).

The second stage refers to a change in growth that occurs when SCP-003-1 comes into contact with living organic matter, during which a change in growth dynamics occurs; it seems that in this case SCP-003 is trying to shape itself in the image of available organic material and come into contact with organisms corresponding to its original "template" or "templates".

In the second stage, SCP-003-1 can suspend, slow down or reverse its growth, as well as begin to transform inorganic or inanimate organic matter into structures similar to itself, changing their physical composition through abnormal exposure.

In the first stage, growth continues at a constant rate, while in the second it slows down by 20-90% for as long as SCP-003-1 continues to be in contact with living organic matter. The percentage depends on the complexity of the organism or organisms associated with the object; it seems that SCP-003-1 allocates a large amount of computational resources to the analysis of living organic material.

During each of the growth stages of SCP-003-1, SCP-003-2 emits bursts of radiation that temporarily inhibits the growth of SCP-003-1, and if the temperature rises above 100 °C, it can even reverse it. Similar emissions of radiation were reproduced and recorded using other anomalous means.

The biology of SCP-003-1 has been the subject of extensive scientific research. The similarity of the main elements of the object with SCP-███, SCP-1512 and SCP-2756 was revealed. In relation to the latter two, the existence of a connection both with each other and between them and SCP-003-1 was not confirmed, and neither of them was fully studied (strictly speaking, they were studied even less than SCP-003, because the latter was investigated by conducting numerous cross-experiments). To date, no convincing hypothesis has been put forward to explain the relationship between SCP-003-1 and these objects (or any others), as well as hypotheses explaining the relationship between them and modern technology, not counting hypotheses concerning the similarity of their appearance (for example, it was suggested that the possibility of mimicry using an unknown mechanism).

I don't assign them to myself anyway, moreover, you can take my work and combine it with another work, refine it all and pass it off as your creation.
