Original The Parish [v2.0.0.0 from 2009 | Pre-TLS]

Have you ever wondered what the 2009 version of The Parish looks like? Do you miss the old map tricks, glitches, and exploits that were patched by .lmp and commentary.txt files? Did you ever want to show your friend the original version of The Parish without both of you downloading the v2.0.0.0 version of the game?

Well look no further as I have uploaded the 2009 version of The Parish with the original navigation, commentary, and .lmp file. All the old exploits you used to do and love (or hate) before they were updated by Valve or the Community Update Team.

This has been fully tested to make sure everything works! Do not report map exploits or glitches as this is very intended for this addon.

NOTICE: Even though this is the version from v2.0.0.0 you will not be able to do everything that is possible from that version. This only revives the original untouched level design, navigation from 2009s release.

Why does the workshop addon have a .lmp file?

Answer
I needed to modify the changelevel trigger so instead of loading c5m2_park.bsp it loads c5m2_park_2009.bsp

Did you recompile the map using a decompiled version?

Answer
No, This is the version shared by the speedrunning community from Left 4 Dead 2's initial release back in 2009.

Are you planning on doing all 5 original campaigns?

Answer
Yes, I am currently working on making sure everything works like this version.

Why don't these look any different from the official versions?

Answer
Valve never recompiled any maps since 2009 (excluding c2m5_concert.bsp). So its exactly what it looks like today but with no fixes. (ex: Skipping events, etc.)

Why don't the god spots, infected ladder climb, and any other exploits from the older versions work in this addon?

Answer
Even though all files come directly from the 2009 version of the game. The engine and internal coding have been updated in the current build. So this means some things will not work as you remember them. There is nothing I can do on my end to fix this currently.

Yes you can join the Left 4 Dead Speedrunning Community Discord Click Here. [discord.gg] From here you can download the older versions from there, but please read their instructions carefully as you will be fully responsible for any actions that happen from running these versions.
