Description
Born on the Bayou

Hello y'all! Today I bring you my newest map, Alexandria, Louisiana. Located in the heart of Louisiana (LA), this map can provide a base from a small town to a large metropolis, with as much accuracy to the real deal as I could get!

From Wikipedia:
Alexandria is the ninth-largest city in the state of Louisiana and is the parish seat of Rapides Parish, Louisiana, United States. It lies on the south bank of the Red River in almost the exact geographic center of the state. It is the principal city of the Alexandria metropolitan area (population 153,922) which encompasses all of Rapides and Grant parishes. Its neighboring city is Pineville. In 2010, the population was 47,723, an increase of 3 percent from the 2000 census.

Map Information
While this map does NOT require Mass Transit or any other DLC, it does require, however, an admittedly kinda hefty amount of workshop subscriptions. Sorry! However, I believe it was worth it for the details around the map including highway lights at the main interchanges, some billboards, and power lines from Entergy and Cleco. Thank you @dphinton2003 for those power lines, much appreciated!

This map has 2 ship connections, one on each end of the main river (Red River), 4 air connections, and a multitude of rail and road connections. There are over 300k trees here, so Tree Anarchy will be needed as well.

Other Information
Not much else to add here except a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who's supported my maps by following my page, liking my maps, reviewing them, and everything else between! It truly means alot, and as I approach my 1 year anniversary of my first real map, it's awesome to see how far the support has gotten me!

Before I head out, of course be sure to continue supporting me (if you so choose of course) by liking, subscribing, etc. and be sure to let me know of any questions, comments, or concerns in the comment section below. Thank y'all! :D

8/21/22 Update
I've updated the map to try to fix a few glitches/issues I noticed while trying to play the map. I've also gone ahead and added a few more details in areas I felt needed some extra pizzazz. One more extra item, conno's American Billboard Pack, is listed after this update. One issue that might crop up still is some of the HPS lights on the small exit to the west of downtown floating in the air. I saw it during gameplay but was unable to replicate the issue in the map editor. I also created a new thumbnail after realizing that the old one was bad for people who might not be able to see different colors and whatnot well.

Let me know if there's any questions, comments, or concerns that you might have with the map! Thank y'all! :D

@rpcurrey Thank you! I've definitely considered a map of there but I think with how big that'd be, I'll likely wait until CS2 is released... still possible for CS1 here though! :D

Nice. I hope you might create a map based on Shreveport/Bossier City

@Gaseous Stranger Thank you! Thankfully heightmaps are a thing so it's way easier but with the tiny bayous and whatnot, it definitely was a bit of a challenge. In the end, I think they look really good, so I'm really happy with how everything here turned out! :steamhappy:

Really great work. Looks like a hard area to create with all of the terrain features!

@GayusJuliusCaesarRainbowus I remember a decent amount of buildings from here for SimCity 4 including the Parish courthouse and the Red River Bank building in the suburbs... hopefully someday those can make an appearance here on the workshop too! :D

Luminou made 429 Murray Street, a small skyscraper from here. Nice to have it's real location now :D

@GayusJuliusCaesarRainbowus Thank you! Glad to hear from someone there that it's accurate lmao. I know it's not 100% because C:S terraforming limits kinda suck lol but I'm happy to have done a good job on it! :D

Hey! I live here! This is awesome! You paid a lot of attention to detail here. Even got most of the bayous on the map! I know that was hard to do because of how narrow they are for CS standards. Great job! :highlvl:
