I'm actually giving it a second shot. assuming it's a separate body group, it should be as simple as deleting it in edit mode
making a working eye UV map is as easy as plugging a few nodes in blender's shader editor, but the author had not only overcomplicated things for us, but he did so for himself too
why garbled, half-functional models like this pass verification on various sites is beyond me
