Description
FOR VERSION 1.2!
It's now fully made of oak and some aluminium instead of mainly foam, some oak and some aluminium and it flies pretty well albeit a little like an RC-plane.

My version of the Vought F4U-4 Corsair carrier-based fighter.

It's an approximation, not a 1:1 replica.

This version is armed with 6 .50 caliber machine guns (I use double machine guns to somewhat emulate the power of the .50 cal), and also the radar guided semi-smart glider bomb ASM-N-2 "Bat" for use against ships and well defended constructions. Its warhead is a 1000 lb GP bomb.
The plane is a bit nose heavy with the Bat attached because of the weight and drag and the Bat's necessary fluid dynamics pieces/wings, but I don't want to trim it since it should be able to fly normally once the bat is released.

Alt controls to fly.
W/S: Variable throttle.
S: Ground brake.
A/D: Ground steering/Yaw. *
Up/Down arrow: Pitch.
Left/Right arrow: Roll.
X/Disable steering: Landing gear.**
L/Headlights: Approach light.
K/Hazard lights: Sight light.
Hold X/Invert steering: Fold wings.
Fire action 1/Num 1: Machine guns.
Fire action 2/Num 2: Bat bomb. ***
Fire action 8/Num 8: Arrestor hook.

ASM-2-N Bat controls. NO ALT!
A/D: Yaw.
Up/Down arrow: Pitch.
Left/Right arrow: Roll.

Camera 1: ASM-N-2 view.

*I do not know why it often tends to veer off course so badly on the ground above 90-100kph. I've changed the landing gear several times, added extra stabilising fins internally etc. but nothing seems to help. Sorry about that.

**The real gear turned the wheels 90 degrees so they would lie flat inside the wing. I use the max steering angle of 60 degrees to simulate this. The only way to get them 90 degrees is with an actuator, but adding rotating actuators to the landing gear makes them very wobbly so this will have to suffice.

*** The real thing was a glider and guided towards its target by radar and an autopilot, but this one is controlled by the player and has some low powered help thrusters for the first 20 seconds since gliding works so-so in the game because of the massive drag and speed loss from any control surface being used.
Or you can just drop it and it will glide at a rether steep but as it seems steady angle towards the ground.
As always there is a risk that the games detonators will send the Bat flying forward sideways twirling spinning; just respawn and try again, nothing I can do.
