Description
FOR VERSION 1.2!
It's now fully made of oak and some aluminium instead of mainly foam, some oak and some aluminium and it flies pretty well most of the time, but the utterly broken "dynamic" fluid dynamics system can make it behave erratically at times with twitching and sudden leaps in lift, aileron effect etc.

The torpedo bomber version of Handley Page's medium bomber Hampden.

It's an approximation, not a 1:1 replica.

This bomber was widely used by the British during the first years of WW2 until it was replaced by the four-engine heavies like the Lancaster. It for example took part in the first night raid on Berlin and the 1,000-bomber raid on Cologne.
It has a crew of four and it is armed with 1 fixed forward machinegun operated by the pilot, 1 flexible machinegun in the nose operated by the navigator/bomber, 2 rearwards machineguns in the dorsal (back) position and 1 rearward machinegun in the ventral (belly) position.
After playing out its role as a bomber it was transferred to RAF Coastal Command and used as a torpedo bomber and maritime reconnaissance aircraft, and this version carries a Mk XII torpedo as well as one 500 lb bomb under each wing.

Alt controls to fly.
W/S: Variable throttle.
S: Ground brakes.
A/D: Ground steering/Yaw.
Up/Down arrow: Pitch.
Left/Right arrow: Roll.
X/Disable steering: Landing gear.
Hold X/Invert steering: Bomb bay doors.
L/Headlights: Landing lights.
Fire action 1/Num 1: Machine gun.
Fire action 2/Num 2: Torpedo. *
Fire action 3-4/Num 3-4: Bombs.

The other machineguns are controlled from their respective seat** with Alt + Arrow keys or Mouse and Fire action 1/Num 1.

Camera 1: Nose machinegun.
Camera 2: Dorsal machinegun.
Camera 3: Ventral machinegun.
Camera 4: Torpedo sight.
Camera 5: Torpedo view.

* The torpedo will start the thrusters when close to the "water" on release. As always go low (< 10 metres) and slow (< 220 kph) with a slight nose up for best chance of a successful launch. A green light in the cockpit will indicate the topredo has been launched. The thrusters will ignite 2 seconds after drop (so do not be too high), tehn burn for about 60 seconds, and the torpedo will self desturct after 75 seconds.
On ground I could use "Distance to Ground" sensors to ignite the thrusters when close to the ground, but since they do not recognize water I have to use a timed fuse as a makeshift solution.

** The ventral gunner is seated upside down due to lack of space and so they are not 100% dependent on a camera for sighting.

All my remade for 1.2 torpedoes work in water, not on land. However you really need to fly under 200 kph and close to the surface to drop them or the risk of them bouncing spinning twirling when landing increase exponentially. As low and slow as possible, which admittedly can be a challenge with the current aerodynamics and uts many little suprises.

This one does, and 2 500 lb bombs. Torpedo is inside the bomb bay so you need to open the bomb bay doors first by holding X. ;)

Hey mean a question do you know if the Handley Page Hampden TB Mk 1 has Torpedoes?

Hehe that's a chunky boi the F3F-2! :D
I've been considering War Thunder but I'm not a fan of the pay to win aspect of it, and I'm definitely not a fan of the mixed time periods. To me it's just not fun to pit Tiger I:s against modern vehicles and it doesn't appeal to me at all. Just feels wrong. Also I'm not much of an online player and get fed up with morons online very quickly. 😁

I can put B-18 on my list, but I must admit it's not really calling to me. 😁

No I don't play War Thunder. :)
