SCP-860 - Blue Key

Special conditions of detention: SCP-860 must be stored in a small wooden box in a storage facility in Sector ██. The object itself is not dangerous, so no special procedures are required.

Description: SCP-860 is a dark blue key of the usual shape. After seemingly random intervals of time, a set of numbers appears on the blade of the key, which are coordinates in UTM format. During the entire time that SCP-860 was in the custody of the Foundation, the numbers changed three times, as a result, the coordinates in ██████ (Germany), ██████ (England) and the coordinates of the Zone ██ were obtained.

SCP-860 can enter any door lock that needs to be opened with a key located in the area indicated by these coordinates, and will act like a key that is suitable for this lock. SCP-860 only works if it is inserted into a door lock, and only if this lock is embedded in the door; it will not work with other locking devices.

If a door is unlocked and opened with SCP-860, that door will not lead to where it normally opens. Instead, it opens into a small forest, in the middle of which there is a clearing approximately 80 cm wide, designated as SCP-860-1. During each observation of this grove, the presence of blue fog was noted.

As soon as anyone steps into SCP-860-1, the door closes automatically. From the inside of SCP-860-1, the door will be embedded in an endless concrete wall and locked. Attempts by employees outside SCP-860-1 to break down the door were unsuccessful. Attempts to break down the door from inside SCP-860-1 resulted in [DATA DELETED]. See Document 860-III for additional details.

The path inside SCP-860-1 usually leads to another door embedded in another endless concrete wall. This second door opens into the room where the door to which SCP-860 was applied usually led.

Employees conducting research inside SCP-860-1 reported various anomalies. They are described in more detail in Documents 860-I-IV.

After the events of Study IV (described in Document 860-IV), research with SCP-860 can only be conducted by Level 4 employees.

Incident 860-██-12: ██.██.████, ██ days after the IV Study, SCP-860 was found on Dr.'s desktop ███, ████ m away from his place of detention. The locker in which the object was located was not open. Surveillance camera footage from ██:The morning showed that the key suddenly materialized on the table. It is currently unknown how or why SCP-860 was moved. The incident had a strong impact on Dr.. Psychological examination is recommended.
