Description
FOR VERSION 1.2!

My version of the Airspeed Horsa Mk II glider. This version has the D-Day stripes.

It's very much anapproximation, not a 1:1 replica.

Used in several operations to land troops behind enemy lines this glider can carry 28 fully soldiers and you might be able to cram a cannon or a jeep in there if you make a ramp.

Since towing, especially in solo play, doesn't work I added an electric engine and a hidden propeller so you can fly the plane to a suitable altitude before cutting the engine and gliding. Since the game physics removes so much of your speed when using any flaps you need to adjust your course as little as possible to maintain sped, or cheat and boost your speed with the engine in turns.

The fuselage is a bit girthier than the real deal but I had to compromise to be able to use the arches and create a hollow, round fuselage whith an opening door, so it's a bit chubby but seat capacity, length and wingspan are quite close to correct.

Alt controls to fly.
W/S: Variable throttle. *
S: Ground brakes.
A/D: Ground steering/Yaw.
Up/Down arrow: Pitch.
Left/Right arrow: Roll.
X/Disable steering: Side door.
Auxiliary/PgUp and PgDn: Open nose for loading and unloading.
Fire action 7/Num 7: Jettison main landing gear to reduce weight and drag and use skid to land.
Fire Action 8/Num 8: Remove rear part of fuselage to speed up unloading after landing.

* Since the electric engine has 3 gears it works a bit differently from the regular plane engine but it usually works well. If you need to shift up or down manually use Shift and Ctrl respectively.

Feel free to edit in any way, but if you re-upload publically in any way please acknowledge the original creation and creator.

Have fun!

I'll put them on my list; they all look like cool planes to build (the SM.92 definitely looks like interesting Italian design). No promises on when they'll be built though. I will try to focus a bit more on Soviet and Italian planes though after the one I'm working on now since I know I'm lacking planes from those nations. :)

I like you to see make a SM 79 (B) and maybe the Re.2005, Or a Sm 92 or Sm 91 ( I think their part of the Italian empire expect for the SM 79 (B) which I think its a version for Romania and Iraq I think.

Re-building the Polikarpov I-16 from scratch right now since my old version was a mess. 😁

Yeah I have a few on my list: Yak-9 Antonov A-40 ("flying tank") Tupolev Tu-2 Ilyushin Il-2 PE-8 Macchi C.205 Veltro. I'm not very familiar with Soviet WW2 planes and most definitely not Italian ones but there definitely are some cool planes. If you have any suggestions for a nice Italian plane they afre welcome.

Btw, Are you going to make some more Soviet/Italian Planes in the future?

It's just that spending 20-40 or more hours building something that can't roll and turn without falling from the sky bc of broken game physics doesn't feel that appealing. 😕

Possibly, not really feeling like building 4-engine bombers with the aerodynamics treating them so harshly right now though, but it's an interesting plane and it's on my list. So maybe someday. As usual no time frame though. Best I can do I'm afraid.

Will you ever make a PE-8?

That was about 100 hours of extra work and frustration Fluppi kindly bestowed upon me with the 1.2 update, I wonder what's next...

And no I won't be tweaking the "damaged bomber" ones since the fixed ones have the Fire in the engines feature. ;)
