Vampiric Lords of Legend & Lore

This mod adds a few Legendary Lords from Lore to the Counts.

Akana the Hag- Old. Used to be a Lahmian, hooked up with Ushoran, became blood-sister to Lydia von Carstein in a bloodbath (an actual bath in blood). This lady has the blood of 3 great bloodlines coursing in her veins! Good job! Grandmomma to the Strigany... she used to chill in the Hunger Woods and had treekin servants, a "pet" Necrach, and a loyal Ancient Treeman guard. She's obsessed with the Vampire Prophecies, like, a lot. She often uses illusion to appear as a nymph & snag a quick snack from woodsmen. Yum.

Akana split the scene with the End Times approaching & followed good old Helman Ghorst to take back Nagashizzar. She adds one tech node that is tied to Ghorst's special building (level 2). Tech opens the ability to recruit her Tainted Treekin and some feisty bats from the Hunger Wood. They have been suffused with Dhar and they are hoongry! She can summon Dhooram in battle (think Krell, but with leaves). Not the bulkiest HP, but once she goes down her true form emerges and you have an angry Ghoul King (Queen) on your hands! The summon is a "unit" and does not have her casting, etc. so she will rightfully be wounded after battle as she regains her strength & re-applies her illusionary appearance. Oh, the tech node has some benefits from her research and the -corruption +corruption is intended. This will aid in "cleansing" other forms of corruption and have a net bonus of Vamp creep because she's the clever-est lady. Xyzyx, the blind Necrach is ever-ready to fortell the future and keep his mistress from harm.

Shade of W'soran- It's said that Melkhior killed his master while he was deep in a trance... That might be true...and it might not. This shade is a casting powerhouse with a mixed lore of Vampires, Death, and Nehekhara. W'soran was a Nehekharan priest before his bro-mance with Nagash and founded the Necrach school. He's old, ornery, and ready to whip some tail.

The Shade went down South with Mannfred to catch a tan & look for the Books of Nagash (see bro-mance). He has some tech nodes that open up once you build Manny's special building in Ka-Sabar (City of Bronze). His tech opens the ability to recruit some ranged options from the Tomb King roster (they are 'spensive) because he is W'soran and as a former Nehekharan priest he still has some old friends laying around. The rest of the tree basically gives some buffs for those units with a few faction perks. He also gives a bonus to diplomacy with Arkhan because they go waaaay back.

Elize von Carstein- She's pretty old too. She was Isabella's handmaiden in life, and first meal in undeath. Ever-devoted to her mistress, she starts with Vlad & Izzy (of course). She's a slightly stronger version of a Lahmian with a few extra tricks up her sleeve. She was very cozy with Anark von Carstein (a very stronk Blood Knight). She also held the titles of Doyenne of the Red Abbey and was the last Grand Master of the Drakenhof Templars. Huzzah!

With Elize, there are no new tech or units... but a new army ability opens up for all forces once you build the Von Carstein Court Hall in Castle Drakenhof. Necrotic Overload puts the old whammy on your enemies as you channel a buttload of Necromantic magick into a unit. Unlike the Skaven Warp Bomb, this does not hurt your unit because... necromancy! It does a small amount of damage and then leaves a debuff on enemy units for quite a while. The debuff does some minor damage over time (it adds up) and slows them along with a slight reduction to atk/def. It's definitely a bad case of grave rot!

Kemmler did not get a new friend because he's a dirty old cheater-pants that frolicks with the likes of Chaos! Such a naughty boy... I did add some bonus to vampire diplomacy on his unique item (Ravenous) though because he starts just a stone's throw from the Red Duke. Kemmler can make his own friends! The only other thing I touched was... you guessed it... Corpse Carts!! I didn't change stats, but I gave them back the weapon strength they were always meant to have. POW BANG!! They have the Luminark weapon in the current game files... but no boom-boom lasers and that's just not right. WH2 files had a "corpse cart" weapon that was never used. While the buffs they offer are nice, they're still pretty useless in a fight. Arguably the poopiest "chariots" on the block. They still have crap stats, but they can hit for actual damage now... when they manage to hit...

All characters are immortal and if you wanna catch 'em all you need to get friendly and confederate! If the faction gets wiped out you still need those buildings to open the tech trees & army ability! There is also a very popular mod to "Recruit Defeated Legendary Lords" that should help you scoop them up from the clutches of doom.

All the characters have items that should open as they level. Only Elize gets mounts. All slots get filled, because an empty slot is a sad slot. I also usually play with the "New Legendary Lords Artefacts" mod by stompie5



This will likely conflict with overhauls because they add a ton of stuff and I can't even try to go through every single one of those. Anything that tweaks tech trees may also make boo-boos. I'll try to keep this updated promptly but grad school sucks and homework is lame.
