Special conditions of detention: When handling SCP-004-2 - SCP-004-13 it is vital to follow the appropriate procedure. Objects are allowed to be taken out of the Zone only accompanied by two security guards with level 4 access. Under no circumstances should other components of SCP-004 be carried through SCP-004-1. The consequences of these actions cannot be predicted, and the cost of conducting experiments at the moment makes further research impractical. If any objects contained in SCP-004-1 violate the conditions of detention or the complex is destroyed, the keys must be brought inside and the door closed until the warhead is activated in Zone 62. Unauthorized removal of keys from the testing area is grounds for immediate destruction.

Basic access to SCP-004-1 requires 1 level of access. To use SCP objects-004-2 - SCP-004-13 requires level 4 clearance.

Description: SCP-004 consists of an old wooden barn door (SCP-004-1) and a bunch of twelve rusty steel keys (SCP-004-2 - SCP-004-13). The door itself is the entrance to an abandoned factory in [DATA DELETED].

Chronology
02.07.1949: The door was discovered by a group of three minors who illegally entered federal property near ██████████. According to their testimony, they found a bunch of rusty keys in the mailbox and determined which door they were opening. The minors were taken into custody after they contacted the sheriff ██████████████ and they reported that one of them (SCP-004-CAS01) was missing.

03.07.1949: Local authorities found the severed right arm of SCP-004-CAS01 eight kilometers from SCP‑004. Other body parts of SCP-004-CAS01 were found within a radius of 32 km (thirty-two kilometers) from the factory. During the interrogation, the detained minors admitted that after opening the door with one of the keys, SCP-004-CAS01 was torn into several parts, which then disappeared. From that moment on, the Foundation's agents took over the investigation.

04.07.1949: Agent █████ seized a bunch of keys from the local authorities to start testing. Tests have shown that all SCP objects-004-2 - SCP-004-13 approach the lock on the barn door. Twelve Class D employees were assigned to test the properties of the door. Each of the twelve subjects used a separate key to enter the door, but only two survived. Opening the door with all keys except SCP-004-7 and SCP-004-12 caused the subject to be torn apart; however, none of the body parts were later found. At the time of writing, only two parts of each subject have been found (except for the subject using SCP-004‑█, whose remains were scattered near the door). The rest have virtually completely disappeared.

Of the two surviving subjects, only one (using SCP-004-7) returned to normal. The other returned in a state close to catatonia, and could only get out of the room, after which he fell to the floor. The subject had to be immobilized because he was trying to squeeze out his eyes (see Appendix A: The effect of SCP-004 on the psyche). The subject using SCP-004-7 reported that he entered a large room, and its dimensions were not comparable to the building to which the door led. After the exit of the test subject, SCP-004 was locked in an open state for the entry of an armed platoon of third (3) level personnel. The size of the room cannot be measured, in addition, the door frame and the people who came in are the only objects in the room that can be touched or illuminated.

07/16/1949: Minors and the sheriff █████████████████ eliminated.

02.08.1949: █████████████████ It was declared a danger zone "due to unexploded shells" and was surrounded by a fence to prevent civilians from entering. Tests have begun to determine the safety of the area behind SCP-004-1.

01.12.1950: Confirmed the presence of spatio‑temporal anomalies caused by exposure to SCP‑004. Tests are suspended.

02.07.19██: Body parts of SCP-004-CAS01 that were not found earlier suddenly appeared near the object SCP-004. Despite his long-ago death, the remains have not decomposed and are still warm, and the blood has not clotted. Body parts have been sent for testing.

04.07.19██: In a manner similar to SCP-004-CAS01, body parts of one of the twelve (12) subjects appeared near the object. The remains were designated as SCP-004-CAS02. According to the records, both SCP-004-CAS01 and SCP-004-CAS02 used SCP-004-██.

03/21/1999: Due to the rapid increase in the number of nuclear weapons in the world and the threat of World War III, construction of a bunker began inside SCP-004-1 years ago. The bunker is designed to store stocks in the amount of ████████ man-days.

21.04.1999: █████████████████ ordered to expand the equipped area inside SCP-004 for the subsequent placement there of all movable copies of the SCP-███ and ██-petabyte database of the SCP Foundation. The complex was renamed Zone 62.

09/24/2000: The beginning of the operation of Zone 62. The construction of laboratories and chambers designed for the maintenance of the most dangerous objects has been completed. The creation of a backup copy of the database has begun.

25.01.2001: Due to temporary anomalies (see "Space-time anomalies" below), all personnel working in Zone 62 are required to stay inside it at all times. The families of employees should be informed that their loved ones have died as a result of an industrial accident. The cloned bodies are prepared for burial.

08/14/2003: A massive power outage occurred in the northeastern United States and Canada. Due to the failure of several generators, Zone 62 was left without power supply for fifty-three (53) minutes. During these fifty-three (53) minutes, all the rooms in the Zone were not illuminated in any way. Subsequently, reports were received from the personnel of Zone 62 that during this time they "felt" creatures and people, but they could not see or touch them. Selected employees were allowed to read ████████████ ( Appendix A), after which they said that the creatures they "felt" were human-sized, but otherwise they were similar to the large green creature described.
