Description
Welcome Everyone!

This mod is a port of my Reiksguard Greatsword Knights unit from Total War Warhammer 1 & 2. I hope you enjoy using it but feel free to tell me what you think and leave constructive feedback so i know what's good and where things could or should be improved :)

1. General Description:

This mod adds a new unit to the Empire of Man:

Reiksguard Greatsword Knights

"Equiped with the highest quality greatswords imperial forges can produce, these elite warriors wreak havoc among enemy troops."

Pros:
  • High damage output, especially against armoured targets
  • Anti infantry bonus damage
  • Superb moral due to their discipline, excellent training and acompanying officer
Cons:
  • Vulnerable against ranged units
  • High costs and upkeep because they need expensive equipment and training

Factions:
  • Reikland
  • The Golden Order
  • Cult of Sigmar
  • The Huntmarshal's Expedition

Recruitment:
They can be recruited at Castle Reikguard in Altdorf or any Reiksfort after building an armoury (rank 2).



2. Base Stats:

Their base stats are as follows:
  • Stats:
    • Ultra Unit Size: 120
    • Cap: No Cap
    • HP: 9000
    • Armour: 120
    • Leadership: 80
    • Speed: 30
    • Melee Attack: 45
    • Melee Defense: 37
    • Weapon Strength: 44 (31 normal + 13 AP) +14 bonus vs infantry
    • Charge Bonus: 18
  • Costs:
    • Cost: 1200
    • Upkeep: 310
  • Attributes:
    • Hide in forests


3. Technology and Skills:

The unit does receive bonuses from unlocked technologies and skills roughly comparable to those of the vanilla Greatswords.

Hello, I think that I found a bug/mistake: This unit does not appear to be totally receiving tech/lord skill buffs correctly. I am admittedly using a skill mod to add more skills so I guess the "issue" is that they are not being tagged as Greatswords for said buffs (Idk if you manually added this unit to be affected by the skills/techs). If this is intentional then I guess just disregard this

Lobuno. I have never used that mod.
Are you a mod creator?

I would like someone to create these two mods:

One that added the "Reiksguard Headquarters" building so that it could also be built when you play the other three empire campaigns. It's horrible that only the emperor has it available, especially if we want to use mods like the great swordsmiths that add units that need that building to be able to recruit.
The second one is a mod so that the lords and heroes who spend a lot of time in the areas with high chaos corruption do not have as many penalties when the "Madness" trait appears since they lose a lot of defense and it does not seem fair to those who are possibly the best troops and those who fight the most. Better that it affects them in penalties such as loss of control and public order.

This mod buffs the trait giving reiksguard AND greatsword units upkeep reduction from -25% to -50. So units belonging to both groups (like the one in this mod) got -100% upkeep. I just edited the values back to -25% with RPFM and solved the issue. Cheers.

Lobuno. Of the mods that I use that can affect Karl Franz are:

More Ancillary Equipment Slots
Max Level 70 Whith Skill Dump
Better Greatword Skill and Technology

Above all, it could affect the last one, but I think I remember that I deactivated it and the greatword continued to have zero maintenance.

@NachoIV, I found may be issue with the Greatsword having zero upkeep may be introduced by another mod. Do you have a mod that improves/changes Karl Franz's traits like this one https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/workshop/filedetails/?id=2863523362 ???????

Yeah, as NachoIV said this unit has zero upkeep when in Karl Franz's army. I'm using the compilation mod.

Hi thanks for your great mods, sorry to tell you that the Reiks forts are only available for the Karl Franz campaign. In the campaigns of Volkmar, Balthasar and Markus the Reiks forts cannot be built and therefore we cannot enjoy their mods nor the original cavalry of the Reiks guards.

I'm testing three of your Reiksguard mods; Halberdier, Dismounted Knights and Greatsword. The first two OK but the Greatsword have zero maintenance cost. I did the test to make sure and effectively zero cost. Thanks for your job.

Edit; I've kept checking it and the only general with zero maintenance cost is Karl Franz. With the rest of the lords it is OK.
