Description
Commodity-Backed Vanilla Space Credits and Minting

This mod enables Survival Kit to mint (assemble) physical Space Credits from precious metals in the Tools tab.

Balanced for Assembler Efficiency Realistic.

Precious metals ingot quantities to produce one (1) space credit have equivalent value on the Economy market. This means you could spend one (1) SC buying the required ores from Economy stations, refine the ore into ingots, and craft exactly one (1) Space Credit from the purchased ore.

The Survival Kit cannot disassemble, therefore this mod does not permit disassembling money for silver, gold, and platinum.

Tech Details
I made the assumption that people still using currency in the future would have sense enough to ensure their currency attains value from a diverse collection of things. Therefore: each Space Credit gets its value from 34% Silver, 33% Gold, and 33% Platinum.

The calculated Ingot quantity to Space Credit mint relationship is:
Silver (34%): 0.00017 Ingots = 0.34SC Gold (33%): 0.0000165 Ingots = 0.33SC Platinum (33%): 0.00000825 Ingots = 0.33SC ------------------------------------------ 1SC (100%): Ag + Au + Pl -> SC = 1SC

The value per ingot was found by:
  • Taking the price of each ore on the Economy Market (Ore Price)
  • Dividing by the amount of each ore used to produce each ingot (Ore-to-Ingot Ratio)
Therefore:
Silver Ingot: 2000SC Gold Ingot: 20000SC Platinum Ingot: 40000SC
