HMS Queen Elizabeth

Yes, I know she is named after Elizabeth I, but I decided to release her as a bit of an "early access" to a future British Battleships Pack since I had already started work on her, and of course, as a little tribute to the passing of Elizabeth II.



Here is the dreadnought battleship Queen Elizabeth of the Royal Navy, and the lead ship of her class.

She served during the first World War in the Dardanelles and in the "Action of 19 August 1916". She was also the sight of the German Empire signing the terms of the armistice in 1918. She was used as the flagship of the Royal Navy until 1926 when her sister Warspite took that role. She was refitted during the interwar period, serving as the flagship of the Mediterranean Fleet and participated in a blockade during the Spanish Civil War. Shortly before WW2, she was modernized, and was sent back to the Mediterranean once war broke out. Her and her sister Valiant were heavily damaged during the raid on Alexandria by Italian frogmen. Her and Valiant recieved extensive repairs before being brought back into service in 1942. She recieved more repairs in the United States in Norfolk, Virginia and was brought back into the Home Fleet in 1943. She was transfered to the Pacific for the remainder of the war to fight against the Japanese. After the war ended, she became an accommodation ship until she was decommissioned and scrapped in 1948.
