[B41/B42] The Last Of Us Peace Music

Description
FINALLY B42 COMPATIBLE! JUST PAY ATTENTION TO THE INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO INSTALL FOR EACH VERSION

For people who had enough of vanilla music and find music in this game too active and by consequence too repetitive, but still wanna play hearing some The Last Of Us music in moments of peace through the gameplay.

This mod mutes action/combat and tension tracks (the most played through the game) and changes the main menu, intro, safe and exploration tracks for ones of the Soundtrack of The Last Of Us, The Last Of Us Left Behind and The Last Of Us Part 2

The music used is mostly peaceful to bring some TLOU vibes when you are in your base chilling, exploring with no danger insight or just got off bed for another hard day/night of surviving.
As this pack mess with less loop tracks it will be hard to hear any loop problems within a music or too repetitive loops going on.

[HOW TO INSTALL]

Unfortunately for this kind of music mods to install you will need to manually overwrite the original in your game files, so follow the steps below:

1. After you subscribe to the mod, backup your original music file:

Go to your game installation folder and locate the ZomboidMusic.bank in this path: ProjectZomboid\media\sound\banks\Desktop
Copy this file to another location that you prefer or just rename it to create a backup (For example, rename to ZomboidMusic.bank-bkp or ZomboidMusic-bkp.bank)

2. Now you need to locate the file from this mod in your workshop folder following this path inside your Steam folder:

FOR B41 VERSION:
Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\108600\2864373983\media\sound\banks\Desktop and copy the file ZomboidMusic.bank from this folder

FOR B42 VERSION:
Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\108600\2864373983\42.0\media\sound\banks\Desktop and copy the file ZomboidMusic.bank from this folder

3. Now go to the same location where you found the original music file inside your game folder: ProjectZomboid\media\sound\banks\Desktop and paste the file you copied there

For MacOS
If you are using MacOS then the files will be in different locations,

Your Project Zomboid music file that you need to replace will be in:

/Users/username/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/ProjectZomboid/Project Zomboid.app/Contents/Java/media/sound/banks/Desktop

And the mod files you will find in:

/Users/username/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/workshop/content/108600/2864373983

You can follow the instructions above and below just use these paths instead of the ones above to find the files

Thanks @Sakram3ntum for providing the MacOS paths in the comments! :)

DONE!

You can also play using my other mods from The Last Of Us:
The Last Of Us Level Up Sound
The Last Of Us Death Music

The music mods does not conflict with these two. :D

[REMOVING THE MOD]

The methods of removing are the same for B42 and B41
There are two ways to remove this

1. Recovering your backup file you made in the installation:
Go to the file location in the game installation folder: ProjectZomboid\media\sound\banks\Desktop
Get the backup file ZomboidMusic.bank that you created before installing the mod and put it there overwriting the modified ZomboidMusic.bank from this mod
If you renamed and still in the original folder, you can just delete the ZomboidMusic.bank that its in there from this mod and rename the ZomboidMusic-bkp.bank or ZomboidMusic.bank-bkp back to ZomboidMusic.bank again.

DONE!
This is the way if you kept a backup file, now for a second way...

2. Verifying game integrity through Steam:
Now if you didnt made a backup file you can go to the music file location in the game installation folder: ProjectZomboid\media\sound\banks\Desktop
Remove the file ZomboidMusic.bank from there
Now open your Steam, find Project Zomboid in your library, Right mouse click, Go to properties, Local Files and then click "Verify integrity of game files..."
Steam will verify all your game files and find the music file missing then will download it back.
DONE!

damn... why PZ have the lack of this type of music? Seriously, game feels so much better with this:cupup:

@blonded this is totally the problem of the build 42, because I have the same bug, it can be fixed with just restarting the game

@blonded I just tested it and it still works. From what I saw in the patch notes, the only sound-related changes in the new version are about sound effects. This mod doesn’t change any sound effects, so maybe you have another mod that does.

Seems to be broken as of the new patch. At least for me. Having this mod installed causes my game to lose all sound, including sound effects and music.

@zarviiK got it, thanks

This can happen if the music that's supposed to be playing is a high tension version of that track. In that case, the music fades out because this mod mutes that version, so you don't end up hearing peaceful music while you're being surrounded by zombies. The track change is all made by the game based by your current "tension level"
