I find that cannons are KEY when dealing with Ogres, as well as decent anti-large troops as holding infantry, and enough ranged troops to weaken the ogre troops as they approach. Get some decent single-target debuff spells to deal with those feral stalking glass-cannon mutant ogre-things, so you can put them down fast, and you're golden. Also, exterminate any Firebelly heroes you see, Lore of Fire does SO MUCH DAMAGE, oh my God.
Ogre End Game Crisis - The Greatest Muk-bang.
ULTIMATE OGRE-LOAD. Prepare to get SHREK'D.

- less diplomacy/trade partners
- hard to send any caravan near Ogreland
- SUPER hard to explore two thirds of the world map without sending huge armies there
How this will eventually shape out can be interesting to find out (and it does create an additional challenge, as advertised!) but for me this was too heavy handed. It felt like a big risk that 15 turns later, I hate how it put stuff out of whack...
Sorry Wyccc, but that's my feedback. I do however recommend this to anybody who wants some kind of 'Ogres vs. The World' scenario (maybe a more fitting name?). <3
