Train Passenger Baggage Car

This is a train car that I built as an addition to my passenger train cars. This was designed as a baggage car to accompany the seating, dining, and sleeping cars in a similar style. This car has a large custom door in the side that also serves as a platform to load suitcases and luggage onto. The car was made to work with my existing locomotives and other cars using the same system for the brakes and transmitted data along the train. The car has working lights, heaters, some personal equipment, the same connection system as my other cars, working brakes, a large room to use for storage of small items, a large door to access the storage area, and retractable stairs on both sides to climb into the train car.

The car has a panel on the "Front" that allows an operator to activate the brakes for the car (or a consist of cars), set the car to be controlled from another vehicle in the consist, or indicate that the controlling data is coming from the rear of the car. The "external control" switch is activated to make the car subordinate to another car or locomotive. The "power from rear" switch indicates that the controlling vehicle is "behind" the car in the sequence. This switch allows the transmitted data through the train to effectively travel in the same direction regardless of the facing of the car or locomotive relative to the rest of the consist. It also allows a vehicle in the middle to still be used to control the whole train if so desired.
