Cargo Passenger Hub

Description
With the new Plazas and Promenades DLC, this station offers you the perfect solution to get rid of car traffic and use only trains (and cargo trains) instead. It has an integrated cargo station, so you can place it in your neighbourhood and use it both for residential traffic and for cargo service points. You don't need the DLC for it - it works like any other cargo station!

This train station has elevated one way tracks. Don't use it as a terminus station - only as a through station!

It is inspired by the Elbbrücken Station[en.wikipedia.org] in Hamburg, Germany. There is also a small train-metro hub version.

It is based on the Buchenhain Geschäftshaus by Yosh. Check out: Yosh's Workshop.

I recommend to change the tracks with RON, the network replacer Mod or the Railway Replacer Mod to the Railway 2 Network by REV0 for highest quality train tracks. You can read the Complete Railway 2: Guide or the Railway 2: Basic Guide to get familiar with it.

Making a passenger and cargo train station is an excellent idea, which I need in my city! Unfortunately, the option of two single lines at the top spoils this mod...

This is a good idea. I would love to see a station with 3 or 4 passenger tracks, and 2 cargo tracks, and 2 metro tracks underneath. Something that also provides proper sidewalk room on the road connecting side. The Glass Narrow station for example (not this station), you cannot put Paths to it because it has no room at all - the tracks are right next to the road as part of the station design.

Man, if this had some way for Metro trains to stop on the upper platforms and passenger trains to stop on the lower platforms it would be the perfect compact vertical interchange in the city I'm currently building.

Good idea!

You can use this as terminus station with single two-way rail from this mod: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=724382534

It works fine: https://i.imgur.com/RsWUdwb.png

That depends I'd say. In my imagination the use case for my city - which I created the asset for - is as in the description to supply service points. Not carry huge cargo containers. Service points only need light weight cargo. That's why the ground cargo platform doesn't need huge cranes, but can be easily offloaded from the sides.

I mean a passenger stop over a cargo hub is unrealistic to begin with, but I get it. No harm no foul. It's a really nicely done asset, I just won't be able to use it where I want it

If I haven't used one-way tracks, there would be two tracks above each other. I didn't find that realistic.

tbh this station would be totally perfect for me if it didn't have the one-way tracks. The one singular location where I'd really benefit from an integrated passenger/cargo terminal like this would literally be at the end of the passenger line. So now, after building it I actually can't create passenger line routes because the train would just go into nothingness off the map after stopping here. oh well I guess
