You'll find these pretty much in every city town and village in the UK

A place to remember and reflect. Memorials like this are laid with wreaths of poppies, especially on November 11th or the nearest Sunday to it. Known as Remembrance Sunday, where a minuets silence is observed in memory of all victims of war.

This one is a replica of the Hendon war memorial in what is now part of greater London but at the time of erection would have been Middlesex.
Hendon is located north west of central London, 8.1 miles from Trafalgar square
