[Mod Jam 2022 September] Pxyrlite Cult

NOTE: This mod is definitely not balanced towards vanilla factions, especially with some of the higher P ships and weapons.

This is a mod that is made as my entry for Ikswa's modding jam with the two themes of "Robotic" and "Magic" in September 2022.
My discord username is Dot#2831.

This mod is inspired moreso by the theme of "Magic" rather than "Robotic".

This mod adds a new faction, called the Pxyrlite Cult. They have three regions in the galaxy.
They have a variety of weapons themed around the idea of magic, utilising fragments and shrouds and stronger shields and armour compared to vanilla factions.

This faction utilises sound effects for almost all weapons.

Eons ago, on a backwater planet on the rim of the galaxy known as Pxyrlis, now all but the stuff of myth and legend, a great event happened. One foretold by the numerous doom cults that arose on this planet for centuries before, an ancient prophecy that this supposedly cursed world will be destroyed in fires of purple. Although once dismissed as nonsensical hogwash, it happened. Each of these cults claimed to be the recipients of strange and mystical powers from an otherworldly, magical realm known as the Psionic Planes. This event, known as the Awakening, rumoured to have been caused by one of these cults, unleashed immense psychic power across the world, sundering it in two and leaving the survivors on starships and space stations either mad and deranged lunatics or incredibly powerful psionics.

In the chaos of the aftermath of the Awakening, a mysterious figure, leader of one of the largest cults of Pxyrlis managed to consolidate the Cult's power among the survivors, destroying all rival cults and the last vestiges of the Pxyrlis government, gathered as many psionics as he could and set about for centuries to unlock the true potential of the Psionic Planes, integrating its magical powers with the finest technology available and secretly spreading the new Pxyrlite Cult's influence among the galaxy at large, influencing it subtly in the shadows to acquire more technology, or ancient ruins that might hold any scraps of knowledge of the Psionic Planes for the Cult.

They developed powerful psychic technologies - spheres of psionic energy firing beams of magical power, floating summoning circles that can summon powerful orbs as missiles, or entities from the Psionic Planes themselves to fight in their name or cannons that tear a breach into the Psionic Planes themselves.

For centuries they have worked away at their great task of completely understanding and harnessing the Psionic Planes and its vast magical power, and some believe that they have achieved more in this field than any other known faction to date. They collect and archive incredible psychic artefacts, constantly searching for even the most minor of improvements, while subtly influencing other factions within their reach to avoid the entire field of psionics - after all, the only people who they consider worthy, safe to have the power of the Psionic Planes at their fingertips are themselves, of course.

For centuries, the Cult has been but a myth, a legend. The stuff of deranged conspiracy theorists insisting there must be some hidden force influencing them all.

But now they have emerged, their great citadels unveiling themselves, their ships found ever closer in towards the Galactic Core itself. Who knows their intentions?
