Skillbook Vendors Sell Staves + Earth & Physical Staves

In 1 collection by Cleric
Cleric's DOS2 Miscellaneous Mods
10 items
Description
This mod accomplishes three things:
1.) Staves can be bought from all magic school skillbook vendors: Necromancy, Pyrokinetic, Hydrosophist, Geomancy, and Aerothurge; and the staves are guaranteed to have the damage type related to the vendor's skillbooks. The staves will be of several qualities, and like other weapon trades, the quality you're looking for may not always be present. Check your vendors regularly!
2.) Earth and Physical Staves have been added, they spawn with regular treasure tables and can be purchased at any vendor selling staves if RNG is on your side. They are guaranteed to be sold at Geomancy and Necromancy vendors respectively. Earth staves have the "Oilify" effect. Hitting characters, objects, or surfaces with attacks and Staff of Magus will attempt to turn Water and Blood surfaces into Oil. Physical Staves have no effects inherently.
3.) Warfare can now roll on Staves. For those with Spark skills, your staff can help you meet skill requirements without direct investment, and for necromancers, this means no more holding completely useless strength weapons or hybridizing.

Due to the sheer insanity regarding the rolls on staves, a perfect staff is still going to be difficult to find - Proper element, top tier intelligence bonuse, 14% Critical Chance, and applicable ability bonus is still going to be a rare find. This mod just ensures you have a couple more chances each refresh to get the one you want. That and with Warfare thrown in the mix, elemental mages are going to have a *slightly* diluted pool.

Requirements:
None.

Compatibility:
This mod should be compatible with any mod. I do not edit vendors' lists directly. I append my treasure tables like the good little modder I am. This does mean that if a mod does NOT append treasure tables, there might be conflict.
Warfare weapon boost is added, not edited, and should show up no matter what.
Earth and Physical Staves are added, not edited, and should show up regardless of the implementation by other mods. This does mean that other mods that add these variants will likely stack up... Their staves, however, will not show up in my treasure tables added to skillbook vendors.
Any mod that edits the base stats of staves is compatible! Mods that edit the skill of staves (Staff of Magus) *should* be compatible! Mods that edit the base stats and skill of Fire/Water/Poison/Air staves are compatible!

If you're adding this to an ongoing game, the new vendor offers will NOT appear until the next trader refresh. Trader's Inventories refresh the first time you talk to them ever, when changing acts, when leveling up, and every 60 minutes.

This is a "small mod". My miscellaneous mods, including Staff Warfare, Staff Skills, and Staves on Par, can be found here.
My larger projects and class mods, including Elementalist - Elemental Magic Expansion, can be found here.

This mod is unbalanced. Vendors have staves of green and purple rarity even at the first levels of the Fort Joy.

To get the most out of your staves, which of your mods should I add?
