The Library of the Arcane Order: For the benefit of the public, for the use of scholars, and for...well, never you mind what else.

First floor:
Members of the public are welcome!

Our huge, sprawling collection of books covers everything from Aardvark Cookery to Zebra Husbandry. Dig in, settle down in one of our generously appointed benches, or take your selection to the huge reading room (with complimentary privies). Member's access to our luxurious Private Snug with comfy sofas and warm hearth is available at a reasonable rate.

Note: Ensure you sign in -and- out with the Librarians. Unaccounted-for people will be fed to the beast of th...I mean, will have their membership cards revoked. The library is patrolled at night by Animated Armor, and they will not differentiate between whoops-stayed-too-long and book-thief.

Second floor:

Scholars must book an appointment to visit the rarer books on the second floor.

Things are a little more higgeldy-piggeldy up here, but there are plenty of reading and study rooms.

Note: Many of the rarer tomes, scrolls, documents and manuscripts are locked away in cages and similar for their protection. And yours. If you wish to peruse these, please contact a Librarian. Few of these are available to borrow, and those that are require a non-returnable blood deposit.

Third floor:

Members of the Order only.

Up here we simply have...offices. Nothing strange. Oh, we've heard the rumours about the most powerful magical books in the city being kept up here, but really...that's just a rumour. A magically-floating platform over a terrifying void in space and time? A book containing the names and details of every magic user in the city, whether they know it or not? A huge collection of blood, capable of controlling hundreds or possibly thousands and guiding them to our very whim?

Pah! What nonsense.

(Memo to self: This one knows too much. Have them added to...the collection.)
