Pegasus for High Elves

Description
High Elves use pegasi in the lore, now they also have them in game. Princes, Archmages and Mages get pegasus mounts, and a pegasus cavalry unit is added to the unit roster.

Updated for game version 6.0


+++ IMPORTANT NOTE +++ READ FIRST +++

tldr: this mod can potentially rob Princes, Archmages and Mages of several skill points

*edit* not that much of a problem anymore thanks to the official implementation of character respecs


This mod alters the skill lines that includes characters' mount options. Due to the way the game is structured, internal properties of the skills in this line ("Speed of Asuryan," "Ward of Loec," "Ward of Hoeth," "Immortality" etc.) needed to be changed to properly implement the additional mount.

The aforementioned skills work the same as before and on a newly recruited character, those internal changes have no appreciable effect. However, any Prince, Archmage or Mage that already had any of those skills before activating this mod will lose those skills.

Affected skills are as follows:

- Prince - Great Eagle, Griffon, Sun Dragon, Star Dragon, Speed of Asuryan, Ward of Loec, Ward of Hoeth, Immortality

- Archmage - all mount skills, Speed of Asuryan, Greater Ward, Crackling Potency, Absolute Control, Immortality

- Mage - Sun Dragon (Fire Mage only), Lileath's Blessing, Ward of Loec, Ward of Hoeth, Immortality

These skills can be reacquired by spending points on them again, including ones otherwise gained automatically for free ("Immortality," mounts).

*edit* As stated above, the official implementation of character skill resets should be a handy dandy solution to this potential issue


+++ Details +++

Characters:

Pegasi are gained automatically at the appropriate level:
- Prince - level 10 (Note: the Princess doesn't get a pegasus mount due to animation file limitations)
- Archmage - level 14 (Note: in order to maintain steady mount progression, the levels at which Barded Ithilmar Steed and Ithilmar Chariot are gained have been lowered to 8 and 11 respectively)
- Mage - level 20


Unit:

The pegasus rider unit is named "Squallmane Outriders," with stats balanced to be around those of Bretonnian Royal Pegasus Knights, but tweaked for smaller unit size (16 soldiers on Ultra).

Squallmane Outriders specialize in flank and rear charges and lack staying power in prolonged combat. They are recruited from the Farrier building, with the Ithilmar Smith building as secondary requirement.


Squallmane Outriders as well as the character mounts are also available in AI Skirmish battles.

- Ellyrian Royal Stables landmark building

Lord army abilities:
- Sky Master
- Silver Torrent

Technologies:
- Horse Masters
- Skirmishing Saddles
- Vows of Fealty
- Mounted Hornblowers
- Highborn Champions
- Heavy Ithilmar Armour
- Call the Great Herds


+++ Compatibility & Requirements +++

Again, this mod can potentially mess up characters that have been leveled up before mod activation. Use with care and reset skills if necessary.

Save compatible, just keep the above in mind.

Will likely conflict with anything that alters those characters' skill line that include their mounts.

Will likely conflict with anything that alters the Cavalry building chain, as well as anything that affects the tool tips for the above-mentioned buildings, skills and technologies.

Will have a minor UI conflict with my mod "Griffon Knights for High Elves" (specifically, Lord skill and technology tooltips). To use both this mod and the Griffon Knights one, use the combined mod found here:

+++ Known Bugs +++

- Archmages with the Pegasus mount may T-pose on the mount on the campaign map. Presumably related to the campaign_mount_animation_set_overrides table, but I can't quite figure it out. Switching to a different mount and back again should fix the T-pose temporarily.

Please let me know about any bugs you discover, I'll try and fix them.

That depends on whether or not a suitable animation file for elf rigs exists, I'd have to look into it.

I don't think they exist in Tabletop. I added them since I felt they should logically exist, if the beasts are used as mounts.

That's fair enough. It's your call. I was thinking more of the impact of the mod on the AI. Even when I play as High Elves, other High Elf factions can recruit this extra unit. Is the unit in the tabletop game?

That's not in the cards, sorry.
If simply not recruiting them doesn't cut it for you, you can dig up the mod file (if you downloaded it by subscribing to it in the Steam Workshop it will be in "[your Steam partition]\SteamLibrary\steamapps\workshop\content\[some number]", the file name should be "_cassy_hef_pegaprince.pack" ), open it with RPFM or a similar tool, then navigate to "db\building_units_allowed_tables" and open the "_cassy_hef_pegaprince" table there, and delete the one entry that that table has. Then the Squallmanes won't show up for recruitment in the campaign.

If possible could you update this please it doesn't seem to be working with the new patch.
