Phasmophobia / The Fear Of Ghosts (Short horror map)

Well here it is my last horror map for 2022, idk why this map took 6 months so ok? This map
has been worked on since April 30th this year. This map is highly inspired by both gm_ghosthunt and gm_paranormal
as they are one of my fav horror maps. Just a note, this map is recommended for players who like cheap scares and not earbleeding scares (yes this map has cheap scares) so you don't have to worry about garbage earbleeding scares. Before you download this, you might wanna
read the faq (spoiler warning)



this is my first ghosthunt map so I apologize for some mistakes in this map.



This map takes place in a old abandoned mental asylum in the gmod universe which actually
has paranormal activity in it, it was abandoned around 17 years ago until you randomly decided to go into this mental asylum thats outskirts of the large city. you decided to go deep into the place where it somehow has floodlights around the place, meaning there was someone here before? maybe? however, you noticed that there was something horribly wrong with this place...

- dark and lighted hallways
- large areas
- etc
- no where is safe
- custom models at rare places

- phys gun and weapons and other is allowed, however your weapons are useless
to the ghosts (you can't kill them when they are deceased)
- don't use noclip unless your stuck (blah blah blah yea almost every horror map uses that rule)

Steinman (creator of gm_paranormal also cool person): most of the sounds in this map, and got me some ideas from his map
Breadman: person who made the ghosthunt series and a few more sounds (also cool person that made entropy zero)
Others and etc: some custom models
WeCreateStuff: custom blood textures

and yes I DO NOT OWN THE SOUNDS, MODELS AND TEXTURES IN THE MAP, ALL RIGHTS GO TO THE RESPECTFUL OWNERS.

does this map have ghosts?
yes ofc

jumpscares?
yes but cheap (like I said)
But you don't need to actually worry about that same stalker scream that's used in 15,985+ billion horror maps ;)
Popup scares or some zombie or stalker appearing and disappearing (ones we all know) are rare in this map.
The map is supposed to be an atmospheric horror map aswell. (I mean the scares that use the stalker scream with a red light or explosion and then disappears those are rare in this map I mean)

where is the ghost detector?
sadly, this map has no ghost detector well it was going to have a ghost detector but then removed
bc it made the map less scary so I'm sorry.. this map is supposed to be a exploration horror map.

what do I need to find?

you need to find keycards (like in gm_paranormal) to unlock doors.
Keycards will not spawn in random locations when each game is different and they are easy to find

Is this map based on the game?
no lol, it's not intended to be based on the game it's supposed to be based on the phobia

map lags like hell after turning generator on

it's bc you have alot of addons (recommend to not install too mutch addons when playing this)

do I need hl2 ep1, ep2 or CSS?

nope, everything is packed in this map (well kinda not for the custom models bc they are pain in the ass to work so sorry if they don't work they are packed in tho so you still don't need any game note not all sounds are packed so sorry bc there is so many sounds in the map, literally forgot to add the 4 more sounds)
edit: everything that's packed in works so you don't need any ♥♥♥♥ like hl2 ep1, ep2 or ofc CSS

NOVEMBER UPDATE:
I did not expect this amount of support I got well thank you ;)
I was trying to put this but my steam is being a total ♥♥♥♥ and not work properly so I'm just gonna write this here before steam goes ♥♥♥♥ again.

This will be my last horror map because due to amount of them I made well I want to take a break from making mid horror maps

This map will also get a sandbox ver soon (pre haunted version coming soon)
