Special conditions of detention: SCP-939-1, -3, -19, -53, -89, -96, -98, -99 and -109 are contained in cell 1163-A or 1163-B. Both cells have a size of 10x10x3 meters and are located in a Militarized Bio-Content Area 14. Both cells are equipped with a climate control system; low pressure is maintained inside. The walls of the cells are reinforced concrete. Access is carried out by means of a decontamination chamber, the inner door of which is made of steel and sealed. The viewing windows are made of laminated bulletproof glass 10 cm thick, between the layers of which a metal grid is laid with a voltage of 100 kilovolts. The relative humidity inside the cells is 100%, the temperature is 16 ° C. Observation of individuals is carried out by means of cameras operating in the infrared range. Access to SCP-939, holding cells and observation rooms requires the permission of a Level 4 employee.

SCP-939-101 has been dissected and its body parts are stored in cryocamers 939-101A to 939-101M in Bio-Research Area 12. Access to SCP-939-101 requires the permission of two or more Level 3 employees, one of whom must be present during experiments or research. Simultaneous operation with the contents of only one cryocamera 939-101 is allowed. When working with SCP-939-101 tissue samples, their internal temperature should be monitored; when heated above 10 ° C, the samples should be returned to the cryocamber, and work should be interrupted for at least seventy-two (72) hours. There are no other criteria other than temperature for the duration of work with tissue samples - it is allowed to work without time limits if the researcher is able to ignore the mutterings and requests of the object to let him go.

The content cells should be checked every two weeks. During the check, SCP-939 is transferred to an adjacent cell. At this time, the door and windows of the cell should be inspected for damage, if necessary, repaired or replaced.

When working with SCP-939, careful sedative treatment is required, regardless of the type of work. This includes the transfer of individuals from cell to cell. For the protocols for conducting experiments and changing the cell, see Document No. 939-TE4.

When working with SCP-939, as well as when visiting places where SCP-939 used to live, employees should wear chemical kits. Protection class C.1 After work, employees should undergo a standard decontamination procedure to prevent the spread of amnesiac.

In light of the ABCA14-939-3 incident, all non-D Class personnel involved with SCP-939 should wear two electronic pulse meters resistant to water ingress. The meters transmit a signal to a monitoring system equipped with an independent power supply system and at least one backup power source. In case of zero indicators or failure of both meters, their carrier will be considered dead, employees should ignore all his oral statements. Also, at the same time, an alarm is automatically announced for violation of the conditions of detention. Security personnel alerted should also wear meters.

All SCP-939 individuals should have tracking beacons implanted under their skin when captured.

Description: SCP-939 is a warm-blooded gregarious predator, some organs and systems of which have atrophied, like troglobionts. The skin of SCP-939 is well permeable to moisture, red and translucent due to saturation with a hemoglobin-like substance. The average height of an individual SCP-939 standing upright on its hind legs is 2.2 meters, and the weight is 250 kg, although there may be significant deviations from this value. On each of the four limbs there are three fingers equipped with a claw, opposite which the thumb is located. The limbs are covered with bristles, which has a very positive effect on SCP-939's climbing ability. The heads are elongated, there are no eyes or eye sockets, there is no brain skull. The jaws of SCP-939 are equipped with pointed teeth that glow dimly red. The structure of the jaws and teeth is similar to that of the hauliodes, the teeth reach six centimeters in length. Thermoreceptor pits are located on the outside of the jaws. Light-sensitive spots are located along the spine covered with needles. The needles reach 16 centimeters in length and seem to be sensitive to the movement of air currents and atmospheric pressure.

SCP-939 does not have many vital systems - there are no central and peripheral nervous systems, circulatory system and gastrointestinal tract. The respiratory system of SCP-939 is atrophied and apparently serves only for exhaling AMN-C227 (see below). It appears that SCP-939 does not need food to sustain life, and is unable to digest what is ingested. The tissues eaten by SCP-939 accumulate in the respiratory system and regurgitate when they accumulate too much for the normal operation of this system. Despite the lack of vital systems, SCP-939 is viviparous (see appendix 10-16-1991)

SCP-939's favorite method for luring victims is to imitate human speech with the voice of previously killed victims, although there have been cases of active night hunting and imitation of the sound of other animals. Often, an alarm sounds in what SCP-939 is spoken; attempts are being made to find out whether SCP-939 understands what they are saying, or simply repeats what they heard earlier. It is unknown exactly how SCP-939 recognizes voices; there are documented cases of imitation of the voice of a victim who has never spoken in their presence. Voice analysis of SCP-939 is unable to recognize the difference between the speech of SCP-939 and the speech of the victim. For this reason, it is strongly recommended to abandon voice identification systems in all institutions where there are individuals of SCP-939. The victim of SCP-939 is usually killed with a single bite to the base of the skull or neck, the jaws of these creatures are capable of developing a pressure of more than 350 atmospheres.

SCP-939 exhales a suspension of Class C amnesiac (hereinafter referred to as AMN-C227) in very low concentrations. AMN-C227 causes temporary anterograde amnesia, suppressing the formation of memories for the entire duration of action plus about thirty minutes. The substance has no color, taste or smell, EQU502 is 0.0015 mg per minute per cubic meter. In well-ventilated rooms or outdoors, the EQU50 drops significantly, but still poses a threat. 60 minutes after ingestion, AMN-C227 dissolves in the blood. The feeling of disorientation and weak hallucinations that occur after leaving the saturated AMN-C227 area are similar to the post-effects from the use of various psychoactive substances, so it is easy to mistake one for the other.

Appendix 04-11-1982: SCP-939 react sharply negatively to bright light, for this reason, the risk of violation of the conditions of detention is considered minimal. The standard illumination of the corridors with fluorescent lamps is sufficient to keep SCP-939 in a dark cell. See Appendix 09-20-1991.

Appendix 06-29-1987: A preliminary study of AMN-C227 showed that it is possible to use this substance as a general-purpose amnesiac. Employees of the Bio-Content Research Zone 6 develop methods of mass production of the substance and study the possible negative consequences of its use.
