You need this mod if you want to be able to hire the Acolyte.

This mod allows you to hire the acolyte by overriding the Locationtypes.xml so any mod that also overrides it would not be compatible. It is also the reason this is a separate mod. As far as I can tell there is no other way to be added to the hire list.

The chance of the acolyte appearing is small in research stations, habitation outposts, and slightly higher in cities. The acolyte will not appear in mining outposts, or military outposts.

I assume it's possible. I'll have to do some testing the next time I'm on Barotrauma. I haven't messed with special NPCs or events yet.

Would it be possible to have this mod change Jacov Subra to acolyte while keeping his medical talents? He currently is an engineer with special medical talents so I’m hopeful it’s possible.

@Hazmat616 I finished Acolyte additions to the Assistant. Took longer than I thought it would to get the correct conditionals working.

I'll consider it their buffing item then, clowns have bike horns church has lanterns. So i don't see it as an issue. If its possible to make it require you don't also have clown power, then i know it won't be.

@Hazmat616 Did some more testing and it is very much possible to do. The only down side is that the ritual lantern also gives the disguised as husk status.

@Hazmat616 Currently, I have the player limit for Acolyte set to 3. You can hire as many as you'd like though. As for the adding of the Symbiosis talent tree and having it use the disguised as husk status as a requirement, it should work perfectly fine. That's just me thinking off the top of my head though, I'll do some testing just to be sure.

I have no idea if this is possible but could you instead of making a duplicate assistant with these talents instead of clown have them be also added to the clown talents but require disguised as husk? This would allow you to either be a clown or cultist just by changing clothes.

It’s all good. This and the harlequin are amazing concepts; so I figured having an assistant be just clown swapped for husk would be better for subsequent crew instead of just all acolytes. On a related note is there a limit to how many acolytes you can hire?

@Hazmat616 Yeah, I can do something like that for you. Have some family visiting from New Hampshire currently, so I will probably just be spending time with them until they go back. I'll get that done afterwards. I missed a bunch of your comments, sorry about that. Still getting used to the new steam interface.

Can you make a version that has the acolyte job be identical to assistant with the clown tree replaced by symbiosis? You could also replace inspiring tunes and jack-in-the-box with whichever from the acolyte job you feel best effect symbiotic path or to mirror them one that only effects Allies and it’s alive or the ability to craft ritual lanterns.
