In August 1986, in order to verify the carrying and use of shipborne helicopters, ship 105 "Jinan", as a test platform, was refitted with helicopter system, and the project of adding helicopter takeoff and landing system was implemented in Dalian Shipyard in combination with medium maintenance. The refitting mainly involves the removal of the main and auxiliary guns, deep projectile launchers and other equipment at the stern of the ship, the addition of helideck, various landing aids, hangars, aviation fuel tanks, fuel pump tanks, washing water tanks and other facilities, and the addition of air and ground crew cabins. On July 21, 1987, the refitting project carried out in Dalian Hongqi Shipyard was completed. On December 24, 1987, the first helicopter landing test of Ship 105 was successful, becoming the first destroyer equipped with helicopters in the Chinese Navy. At that time, the shipborne battle command system developed by introducing French technology was installed on the 105 ship for loading tests, and the Hhq- 7 missile launcher was also installed on the helideck for a short time (for test purposes).
