> > > How is this different from 1.666? < < <

Both mods have a lot in common since they're built on the same foundation.

1.333 is closer to vanilla experience:
  • Original black & white palette
  • No new maps
  • No changes on vanilla maps
  • No changes in music
  • No changes in enemies
  • All cheats are unlocked
  • All maps are unlocked

1.666 is reinterpretation of vanilla game:
  • Everything is colored
  • Two new maps
  • Slight changes in vanilla maps
  • New music
  • Tougher battles
  • Most powerful cheats are locked behind progression
  • Maps are locked behind standard progression

Below is the full list of changes compared to unmodded game.
At some point we stopped keeping track of the changes, both big and small, so make sure to explore option menus for various new options.

General changes
  • Survival mode was removed, you should check out Survival Overhaul mod instead;
  • A lot of bugfixes to the default game bugs such as the non-shooting shotgun bug and the stretching-limbs bug for female characters;

Gameplay changes
  • All 3 perspectives are now fully supported: top-down, third-person (TPS), first person (FPS), sadly author didn't have enough drugs to implement second person perspective;
  • Dodge/roll makes you immune to gunshots during the animation;
  • Slightly reduced Dodge cooldown;
  • Custom sounds for all weapons, including distinct reloading sounds and even sound spatialization (Hatred didn't have any of that);
  • New manhunt-style / surveillance camera perspective for executions;
  • Revamped execution speeches;
  • Monologue plays during executions (not after) and after kills;
  • Enemies can now aim vertically;
  • Flamethrowers' fire is longer, fuel lasts longer;
  • Toggle-able alternative outfit for the antagonist;
  • Wounded victims eventually start running slower;
  • "R" key reloads vehicle-mounted turrets;
  • Turrets were made more useful - no need to aim precisely;
  • Better feedback for being hit;
  • Turret operators take longer, reasonable time to reload and emit sounds;
  • Stun grenades affect player 1.25x longer, up to 2.5 seconds;
  • Grenades and molotovs are thrown 2x faster and have 1.25x larger AOE;
  • Molotovs have 2x throwing distance to be on par with grenades in top-down; both are thrown +1.5x further when in FPS / TPS to compensate for perspective;
  • Headshots are now properly working;
  • Carry up to 6 grenades, 6 molotovs and 6 flashbangs;
  • Blood particles stay on the screen longer;
  • A LOT of new cheats;

Gameplay changes in fps & tps (compared to original mods)
  • Added shooting recoil;
  • Better crosshair behavior;
  • Toggle-able alternative crosshairs;
  • Improved sensitivity handling when using turrets;
  • Improved grenade throwing;
  • Slightly improved “cut-off” hands;
  • Screen no longer twitches when explosion occurs nearby;
  • When aiming a turret, crosshair now shows to actual point of impact (known bug - it is not smooth anymore);
  • Better aiming down sight in FPS;

VFX changes
  • Blood appears more frequently on victims;
  • Blood overall should look slightly better;
  • Nearby explosions blur the vision;
  • Flashbangs actually "blind" the player for a short time;
  • Bullet tracers were reduced in size;
  • New grenade explosion effect;
  • Improved RPG explosion effect and damage;
  • Shorter grenade's trail;

HUD changes
  • Various helpful hints are added to game options menus;
  • Inventory icons can be hidden for better, less obstructed view (unless you hold “show quests” button);
  • Kill-counter for your sadistic pleasure;
  • Pickup icon for red fuel tanks (because those refuel flamer’s current ammo);
  • New hit indicators (optional);
  • Minimap can now be enabled in FPS / TPS perspectives

...and a fkucton of other small changes and fixes you can only find in the changelog.

At the very beginning of a level stay afar and shoot through walls - the machine gun in the mod is capable of doing that. Shoot the parked cars so that their explosions damage the army hammer.

Try to keep your own vehicle for as long as possible, ideally till you reach the far end of the map, or at least clear some area or two in order to acquire a respawn point. It is much more difficult to fight on your own.

Without a vehicle - stay at a distance, keep them in a single direction, don't let them surround you. Attack, retreat, heal, repeat. It would take more time but that's the only way to survive.

Take it slow. Good luck
