Description

Hi, welcome to another item stacking mod… Wait! Wait! Hold on, I promise, this one is different in a dope way.
This mod introduces placeable resource crates or cargo crates as they are called in-game. They feature multiple mechanics. Because they are placeable, that doesn’t mean you can now safely stow away your resources outside of lockers. These crates are invulnerable, and bypass claimed areas, but don’t fool yourself, know that anyone and I mean ANYONE (any player, not NPCs) can salvage them. These crates can come in handy in raids but also are very good for roleplaying. Oh, and salvage time is 2x faster than your average Unturned placeable and behaves like a note, meaning you can write a message for the person who is picking them up in a roleplay scenario or you want to tell your teammate what to do with it when he joins back soon. Now, if you aren’t familiar with stacking mods in Unturned, here is a simple explanation. Mods like this allow you to compress a single (most of the time) type of resource from many occupied slots into just few which lets you free up your inventory quite a bit.

Version 1 of my mod adds 20 crates for 20 unique Unturned vanilla resource. The math for my crates works like this: 50x 1 slot resources (for example nails) fit into one crate, 25x 2 slot (for example raw explosives), and 12x 4 slot (for example medkit) and so on.

Crate ID range: 59201 - 59220
The following resources currently have crates: Bottled Water (14), Medkit (15), Cloth (66), Metal Scrap (67), Tape (69), Glue (70), Nails (71), Raw Explosives (73), Chemicals (75), MRE (81), Vaccine (269), Raw Indigo Berries (271), Adrenaline (387), Morphine (388), Antibiotics (389), Painkillers (390), Vitamins (391), Tablets (392), Demolition Charge (1241), and Filter (1271)
You only need crafting level 1 to turn the resources into crates but you don’t need anything to turn them back into resources. There is no resource loss on conversion which means the same amount you put into crates, the same you will get back.

WARNING: If the server or your game has durability enabled, the resources you turn into crates and back will have 100% durability.

I wanted to make a mod that allowed for transporting items in bulk but since you can't make item storage portable (without plugins or vehicles), I opted for a simple inexpensive solution, requiring only crafting level 1 to be able to package select few items that exist into bulk. Thought about adding an additional item to crafting such as 'empty crate' but decided not to.

It would be cool if you made a requirement for crafting to need a maple or pine crate as the box to store the items in.

I am aware of that. But that's not normally a huge deal because Arid doesn't use any vanilla (base game) items and this mod is designed for vanilla items anyways. Even if the mod was compatible with Arid, with its current content, it would not be craftable anyways.

Hello, I sent you a friend request to ask about this mod, I need to make a very similar mod, but with some of the settings tweaked.

It should if you don't have a mod which uses the same ID range.

does this mod still work?

Sadly no, this game does not support such containers at the time of writing this. It would be cool to be able to replicate something like Shulker Boxes from Minecraft but sadly, we can't.
