Description
"Congratulations! You've just invented time travel!

Some day, you will use it to learn more about the history of the world, and perhaps even contribute to the betterment of Mankind.

But first, you're gonna play the stock market and get really, stupidly rich.

TimeLine is a simple tile-based game of time travel. Players will move through time collecting goodies, then take them to the end of time to sell them. It's a plain ol' abstract strategy game with a pretty clever mechanic, and it's one of the original Hip Pocket Games."

Faced with a similar problem, I eventually wrote a script that tracked where pieces are, and when a card has pieces, the script moves them separately to their correct places. It is tedious to track the pieces so carefully, but that's the way I found to deal with the problem.

Well, I've been playing around with this for a while. I've managed to make some improvements, but I'm running into a problem.

I added a grid, sized it to the cards (for the most part) and turned on snap. This makes the cards shift upwards by a quarter-card, so that the lines actually line up. On the GM layer (black), I've drawn some lines for reference. I included a bit of numbering so the host can easily tell how many cards to lay out.

I've put in character tokens from the included fantasy set, color-coded. This gives them a little something to do with their figure between turns (posing them, etc.). I've also thrown in jawa64's gold bar, because.

Now for the problem. TTS's physics do NOT like Timeline.

Every time I move a card that has any tokens or counters on them, they jump when I let go of the card, and scatter when the card lands. I've tried fiddling with various toggles, but I just can't seem to get those things to stick to the cards and behave.

If you like any of these CCl'd Cheapass Games please consider making a donation to them. Why?

"Our free games are free. Really, totally, free. This way, we hope to get our games into the hands of as many players as we can, and we want you to feel comfortable sharing and copying our games all over the world.

But if you like our games, we encourage you to help us out, by making a small donation. Hit the "Donate" button in the top right of every page (it takes you to PayPal) and give us any amount that you think is reasonable. For reference, a designer's royalty on a $25 game would be roughly $1. A publisher's profit would be more like $5. But what really matters is how much the game is worth to you."
