During World War I, Agincourt was refitted in 1915 to remove the flybridge between the two chimneys in the middle of the ship. In 1916, he joined the First Battleship sub-fleet and took part in the famous Battle of Jutland. After the war, the British government tried to sell it, but there were no takers.
