Personal Theater (Toon)

This Personal Theater is set in a stylized mid-century modern room overlooking the city to the left and nestled beside a personal courtyard/garden to the right. The environment was textured using a “painterly” technique to emulate a cartoon/anime-style background, and there are 2D elements and animations enhancing the effect.

Conceptually, this environment was designed with 2D/3D animated features or shows in mind, but it ended up providing a tranquil atmosphere that could be utilized for just about anything from live-action movies to video games. I took some inspiration from the “2 A.M Study Session” Lofi Girl YouTube video, so you might even want to use this one for studying.

[[[AUDIO]]] For added immersion, I have included looping audio in the background set low enough to leave on during sessions if desired. Please note that you can turn this on/off whenever you like.

In Virtual Desktop > Audio > Audio Options, check/uncheck “Environment Sounds” to turn the sounds on/off.

Note: The cityscape was captured using Nvidia Ansel within Watch Dogs 2 (and is a callback to the HiFi Bed environments from earlier this year).
