Special conditions of detention: SCP-1499 should be kept in a locked box under the protection of two security personnel. Experiments with SCP-1499 are being conducted with the permission of a Level 4 security clearance employee suspended indefinitely. To maintain communication during the experiment, subjects should wear full-duplex receiving and transmitting radios under SCP-1499. Due to the risk of loss of SCP-1499, experiments on Class D employees are not carried out. In the event that an experimental carrier of SCP-1499 is in danger, he should immediately remove SCP-1499.

Description: SCP-1499 is a Soviet GP-5 gas mask. Testing and crimping showed that the object is sufficiently sealed for use for its intended purpose. An abnormal effect is manifested when putting SCP-1499 on a person's head. Approximately one second after fully putting the object on the head, the subject disappears from sight and is not registered by any devices. The subjects themselves do not feel any movement at the same time. It has been experimentally established that maintaining communication with the subject through portable radios is possible, despite the fact that the presence of the subject cannot be determined. Wearing SCP-1499, the subjects, according to them, find themselves in a place radically different from the one they were in before. According to them, the place around is deserted and uncomfortable, and the space around is filled with tall black towers. Also moving through this landscape are creatures, hereinafter referred to as SCP-1499-1. According to the descriptions of the test subjects, SCP-1499-1 are tall naked humanoids with dark skin covered with a thick layer of an unknown viscous substance. Individual SCP-1499-1 also has a large number of eyes and mouths throughout the body. After removing SCP-1499 from the head, the subject finds himself in the same place where he put it on. The first experiment set out to find out the effects of SCP-1499. Due to the risk of loss of SCP-1499, experiments will be conducted on trained agents instead of Class D employees.
Agent K███████ The agent found himself in a room matching the description given by D-67393. It took about two minutes to inspect the room in which Agent K███████ found a lot of hollow black cubes. The agent managed to get down the stairs of the building without encountering any resistance. When he reached the third floor, the agent heard sounds on the floor below. The agent hid behind one of the cubes and saw two individuals of SCP-1499-1. The agent then removed SCP-1499. First encounter with SCP-1499-1. The agent removed SCP-1499. It seems that the building in which D-67393 appeared is just one of many. Since SCP-1499-1 is prone to violence, it is recommended that agents be provided with weapons for self-defense in the future.
