Description

Frisian Class 7.10
Frisian Urban Railway

Background Information

The Frisian Class 7.10 is a Frisian passenger locomotive designed to operate in urban environments, retaining a decent range and top speed at the same time. It was intended to be used in passenger transport, so it does not have as large of a pulling capacity as some of its counterparts. It mostly saw use in the Kingdom of Frisia, although some were employed by the Great Western Railway.

The Frisian Class 7.10 (lovingly nicknamed the 'Toot Toot' by its English operators) was designed by the Frysk Spoarbaan Komitee (more specifically by Ljouwerter Motorbedriuw - a member of the FSK - which itself is a subsidiary of Ljouwert Marine Technologyen) to be compact, yet decent in range and speed, and to also be able to operate in tunnels without clogging them up with fumes - and thus came fitted with tanks to store exhaust while underground.

This one in particular is one of the versions operated by the FSK. You could use it to pull around your Stormlink carriages, or to lug some stock wagons (but don't expect to be able to pull the heaviest freight ever).

Operator's Manual

In order to start the Frisian Class 7.10 'Toot Toot', you must do the following;
1) Enter the cab through the doors in either side.
2) Navigate to the middle of the room, and open the firebox door.
3) Shovel two units of coal into the firebox
3) Turn the 'electrical firebox igniter' key (in real life you would use wood to start the fire, but anyway)
4) Shovel ten more units of coal into the firebox while waiting for the boiler to heat up. At around 190*C, the boiler pressure will begin to rise. Wait for the boiler pressure to reach between 2.5 and 3 units, topping up the coal as necessary as you wait.
5) Release the vacuum brake. Be aware that there is a stormworks game glitch that will cause the vehicle to fling if the brake is set to 0.1, so avoid low braking values
6) Push the regulator up as high as you want. You shouldn't need to put it too far over 0.8 to get a good speed. It might derail if you keep it at 1 for too long. Yes, it is that fast.
7) Done! Make sure you adjust the regulator setting as necessary as you go, and constantly top up the firebox. You might want to have a friend in the cab with you to do that for you.

It's worth noting that the 7.10 may be a little slow to accelerate at times. This is normal. You also may be unable to get it to move on a hill. This is also normal, you will have to push it back onto flat ground to let it build up momentum first. If you run out of water, there is a hose connector on the right side. You will have to pump more in from there.

Known Errors

Vehicle goes incomprehensibly fast when vacuum brake is set to low values like 0.1
This is not something I can fix, unfortunately. This is a Stormworks issue with the small train wheels, which I have used on the front and back of this vehicle, so you will have to try and put up with it for now. The best rule of thumb is to keep the brake set to 0, and raise it to 0.5 or more only when you need it.

Vehicle sometimes randomly explodes near rail bridges
After lots of troubleshooting, I can confirm that this is not an issue with the vehicle - for some reason, the developers built the bridges and the slopes leading up to them weirdly, so the train sometimes hits an invisible object and explodes. I would suggest turning off vehicle damage when you're near them to counteract this issue. Unfortunately, I cannot fix it.

game glitch with the small wheels, it shouldn't do that normally. see the 'known errors' section of the description.
