Guide

The SM Freight car is relatively easy to use. The sliding doors are not electric, and are supposed to be pulled by the handles. On the side of the door frame is a lock mechanism, and will only lock the door in place when it is closed.



The car spawns in with the brakes on, so it needs to be toggled off. The brake button is located underneath the brake valve, which is on the bottom left of the car.



The connectors are designed to connect to other electric connectors, even if it is a block higher or lower. Underneath the connector are two things: A rope, and a fluid hose. You can use the rope to connect to other connectors, and the fluid hose is used for transporting fluid through the carriages (this is used for transporting fluid from one part of the train to the other).

To recap. you need to:

• Make sure the brakes are released
  
• Lock the doors
  
• Connect the rope and fluid hose (optional)

Background

The SM Freight Car was made in the 1940's. Steam trains are the most popular methods of transport across Sawyer, and even Meier. As more and more people start to settle in Meier, citizens needed better transportation across, from and to Meier. And so, SM (Sawyer-Meier) was created. They specialised in creating steam trains, cars, wagons, hoppers, cabooses, anything train related. After many evolutions of freight cars, starting from simple wooden boxes, we have the new and improved cars that are made from a metal exterior to protect against rain. The new freight car was widely accepted as the standard car for transportation, even among other rail industries.
