Class description
Destroyers (DD) are a class of smaller to midsize warships, highly specialized into either torpedoboats, for anti-naval and anti-sub warfare, Anti-Air destroyers and Anti-ship destroyers. Usually carrying a comparably large powerplant, they often have LAMS equiped. These ships focus on speed, and are often used for interdicting enemy fleets. Destroyers evolve into cruisers and battlecruisers.

The ship
The Hound class is designed as the successor to the Executor class destroyer, and is largely based on the succesful hull design of the Boxer class corvette. Compared to the Boxer, the Hound is larger, heavier and more powerful. Its extra length and width allow for a heavier armament and armour, while the more powerful hydrojet propulsion allows for a speed that is comparable to the Boxer. At 33 m/s, the Hound is also faster than the Executor, while being slightly heavier.

The Executor saw extensive combat in the last Neter conflict, during which the design bureau concluded that it was too thinly armoured for solo engagements. The gasturbine, while more economical than a regular piston engine, was deemed vulnerable and expensive to build and maintain. Lastly, the Executor was designed as a fast destroyer, but its top speed was too slow to effectively outmanoeuvre most significant threats.

The Hound class adresses all these issues. It relies on two regular fuel engines, which are both more robust and more powerful. Its higher speed, reinforced modules and heavier hull armour allow the ship to absorb more damage without losing functionality. The eight Havoc anti-ship missiles will destroy most targets with impunity. Expect this design to outperform the Executor as well as many comparable threats Neter can throw at it, being somewhat vulnerable to highly mobile and small threats, as well as submarines.

Ahhh. Well, I anticipate their arrival. I often use your ships as a guide for semi-realistic meta building, and because your ships preform so good, I always anticipate the next ships launching. Keep up the great work man, it's always good to see your stuff on the workshop!

Hi, the reason why the Monitors aren't uploaded is because I'm not happy with their combat performance. I intended them for use as shore bombardment, but during the campaign they were vulnerable if intercepted by anything with a meaningful speed...

if there's one ship type you've not shown yet that I'm excited for, it would have to be monitors. It would be interesting to see your take on the concept, and which irl monitors you take the style from.
