Bill Goldberg

Bill Goldberg exploded onto the pro wrestling scene in 1997, winning 173 matches in a row to kick off his in-ring career. The former Atlanta Falcon quickly became a fan favorite as he mowed down opponents in short order with spears and Jackhammers.

He captured his first title, the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship in April 1998 and continued to climb the ranks in the WCW World Heavyweight Title scene. He battled Hollywood Hogan on Nitro a few months later, winning WCW's top prize and vacating his midcard belt. The wins kept piling up for Goldberg until losing to Kevin Nash at Starrcade '98 thanks to the interference of a taser-toting Scott Hall.

Goldberg remained part of the WCW main event scene until the company shut down in 2001. He resurfaced following his contract expiring a year later with AJPW before wrestling for the WWE.
