NOTICES TO OPERATORS:
High power / Idle Power
When the engine starts up, they will be in high power mode, in order to allow the engines to start, enable the generator clutch, once the engine catches and spools up, disable the generator clutch to begin producing power. The vessel is fitted with a high power mode and an idle mode, at high power the ship consumes more fuel and produces more power, at idle, the ship consumes less fuel and produces less power. It is recommended when moored during operations to run the vessel at idle power to prevent blackout.

Startup
Either on the bridge or in the engineroom, enable the engine clutch and then hold the starter button until the engines catch, then disable the engine clutch.

DESCRIPTION:
The Type 52 Kagoshima is built mainly as a coastal sea rescue and fire response vessel, but it can also take on light coast guard duties including search and seizure, pursuit and humanitarian relief.

The ship features a crew quarters for 2 and a captains quarters for 1, an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for 2 and stocks of firefighting, disaster response and personnel transport equipment. The Kagoshima sits low in the water and care should be taken when sailing into blue water, seal all hatches and do not walk on the deck in harsh weather.

The Kagoshima carries a modest load of fuel in its main and auxiliary tanks, its not equipped with storm survival systems like stabilisers or up-righting booms, as such take care in dangerous weather. Sail smart and follow the waves.
