Pennsylvania Railroad Fruit Auction & Sales Building

Description
Pennsylvania Railroad Fruit Auction & Sales Building

The Pittsburgh Produce Terminal, as it's currently known, was built in 1926 as the hub for local wholesale produce businesses. This asset is just for the two-story office/warehouse portion, but the entire complex stretches 1,533 feet long over the span of five city blocks to allow for the unloading of freight trains along its length. It was built in the Art Deco and Moderne architectural styles, and the building is unique in that it is the last remaining structure designed to optimize access to Pennsylvania Railroad Freight yards.

After the decline of the wholesale produce industry, the building sat mostly vacant through the end of the 20th Century, and by the mid-2000s, the terminal was no longer being used due to changes in the produce industry. The Terminal is currently in the final stages of a major renovation and revitalization creating storefronts along the former produce bays, as well as a food hall.

Special thanks to Gaseous Stranger for providing the screenshots from his 1:1 Pittsburgh Series on YouTube, and Gilded Age for teaching me about using sub meshes.

Not from PBurgh but saw this mammoth of building when I was there for a Steelers game. Any plan to include a railroad building for this?

I was drawn to this when it was featured. From Philly I know many PRR and RRR buildings. Love their look and that abandoned ones have found new life.
Then I looked through your workshop...!!! I've been trying to find those houses for a long time. Saw them long ago and never came across again. Now...downloaded EVERYTHING.
One thing....have you thought about make a "collection" for your small commercial buildings? Would make it a little easier then subscribing to each one separately.
Love this one. Love all your other ones. Follow so I don't miss out on what you might do next!
