Use the Progressive Upgrades script to upgrade weapons all-at-once, like vanilla.

"So wait, what's the point of taking a modified upgrade anvil script and making it behave like the vanilla script?" The other features of the script, of course: you can see how many levels the item was upgraded, and the GUI doesn't break just because you have a weapon with a moderate number of parameters in your inventory.

This mod does not include any level offsets, so the behavior stays as Vanilla-like as possible; if you want to use this with something like Upgraded Upgrades and want the Protectorate Broadsword and Lazercaster to maintain their status of being a level one higher than everything else, just combine this with the Progressive Upgrades mod.

Enabling both at the same time will not cause problems; you'll get vanilla-style "upgrade to max level in one jump" upgrading plus the Protectorate Broadsword and Lazercaster having a level offset of 1.
