This mod allows constructoids to mine. It's annoying that the Mechanitor start is so painful without mining, and it just makes sense, IMO, for the constructoids to be able to mine. They're already assembling and disassembling physical things, why not rocks, too? Just like they build at 50% speed, now they mine at 50% speed too.

Safe to be added to, and removed from, existing saves, with one caveat: adding the mod will NOT allow existing constructoids to mine (you need to make new ones). Removing the mod will safely strip constructoids of their mining ability.

Still works on 1.6.

This mod works on 1.5.

Heres a tip: To know if a mod works on newer rimworld versions download the Rimsort mod manager. In the mod manager next to the mod names you'll see the steam logo (folder icon for locally installed mods) and next to that another logo.

That other logo will either be "XML" or "C#" XML mods are simple mods that *usually* don't break between game versions. C# mods, however, break between versions far more often than XML mods do. Long explination short: Oudated XML mods usually work, C# usually don't.

I've been wanting a mod like this for the same reason! It makes ZERO sense that a droid that can build things out of stones can't actually mine said stone. This is especially important when you start a scenario that is just a single mechinator
