Just turn the key. Working proof of concept.

Control rod-free nuclear reactor with individual fuel rod temperature regulation, controlled by "networked" fuel rod assemblies, connected in a ring and passing messages around.

You can also use the keypad to enter a new target core temperature then hit the button to the side to send the request to all fuel rods.

Steam produced directly drives steam pistons, instead of going to turbines etc. Because it's neat.
