Lore:

The Gore God was once human, a brilliant scientist who tried to cure muscular dystrophy by using a retrovirus to introduce telomere repairing genes that would halt the disease entirely and grant the patient incredible regenerative abilities.

But before he could finish his research; his own employers sent a squad of armed agents to kill him so they could steal his research for themselves.

The soldiers stormed his lab and shot him; but before he bleed out; the doctor injected himself with a prototype of the retrovirus.

The virus had the intended effects initially; his body rapidly recovering from the gunshots; allowing him to fight back and kill the agents.

Knowing someone wanted him dead; he had to escape the lab and fight his way through armed agents, not even knowing it was his own employer who sent them.

He escaped successfully, but as days passed the virus began mutating inside him, slowly twisting his mind and body.

A week later; he was unrecognisable; no longer himself in mind or body.

All that remained of the man was a mindless monster.
