M1A2 ABRAMS is a Third-Generation Main Battle Tank (MBT) produced by the General Dynamics Land Systems.
The first variant was the M1 abrams which had a M68A1 rifled gun and it was introduced with a gas turbine, the Honeywell AGT1500; moreover it had discreet armour, but the front turret could be still penetrated by soviet 125mm apfsds of the time.
It had no CITV for the commander nor any optic, the only way he could see is trought gunner's optics or using periscopes.

With the next generations we get upgraded armour and gun:
IPM1: better composite armour
M1A1: new gun (M256A1 smoothbore gun)
M1A1 HC: added depleted uranium in composite armour
M1A2: CITV and SEP upgrades

there are more variants of this MBT, but these are the most important.

M1A2 Abrams SEP TUSKII includes the Tank Urban Survival Kit (TUSK) version 2 which has extra ERA on the hull sides and the turret
