Description
Adds the UV Laser weapon system. High energy ultraviolet lasers are very effective against shields, but have reduced impact on solid matter.

UV Lasers sit between Small Lasers and Disruptors in terms of both effectiveness and cost. They have 33% more range that Disruptors though without the energy drain ability. UV Lasers excel when paired with other standard laser types for increased overall combat power while maintaining the lasers' range benefits.

UV Lasers are also integrated into Career and have a corresponding unlock blueprint.


**Mod is balanced and tested against standard Cosmoteer parts to offer new design choices for broader gameplay.**

Could you please move the new tech added by your mod to a tech file instead of adding the tech directly in the mod.rules.
I'm making a rebalance of your mod, making it a beam weapon instead of a projectile, adding the new ElectronBuff to the damage and a few more stuff, but I can't modify the tech if it is inside the mod.rules.

These all sound pretty reasonable, more my speed than all the x100 stronger no-restrictions free-power roof-mounted stuff i see everywhere

Fixed crashing caused by crew construction

It's going to take me a bit of time to dig into this and my other mods. Due to other obligations, I likely won't get to do that until mid-August unfortunately :(

I really like this mod but unfortunately my game crashes repeatedly because of it.

Here is some general information:
-all other mods are disabled
-Game version: 0.23.0d

Steps to reproduce:
-Start a new game with a new ship
-Contact the nearest station
-Buy the blueprint for the UV laser
-commissions the construction of a UV laser on your ship
-Crew builds the UV laser

Expected result:
UV Laser will complete and the game will not crash

Actual result:
As soon as the UV laser finishes, the game crashes

Error log excerpt:
System.InvalidOperationException: No component named 'Turret' in part 'jfjohnny5.uv_laser'
...

Is this a known bug or does anyone else have this bug?

yes a turrent version would be nice. dont use any wall weapons/shields anymore. too risky that enemy fire can get inside the ship.

@dfgmac - I am indeed! Working on updating most of them (some ideas, like the Railgun I designed, are now part of the base game) to this current version of Cosmoteer since I kept all the old design files.
