The Ion Bat Mk II by EuroSpace Industries is the revised version of the MIC class' frigate sized vessel. MIC stands for "Modular Ion Chamber" and is a series of ships designed to act as a single ion chamber of changable size depending on need and budget. The Mk II is not only equipped with 4 Ion Beams, but is also capable of taking in a second beam of equal strength and feeding it into the main outlet. It can either act as a front line beam combinator against other ships of its size (and above) with its efficient shields and new addition of PD guns, or can feed into a larger combinator vessel in front of it. It sacrifices a some speed, though still has respectable reverse thrust for great kiting potential.

Demonstration:
As seen in the first few pics, the formation is stable and able to stay at range while the attacking ship (with lower range due to missing sensor room) is cannot get in firing range with its 76m/s top speed.
