Color-Coded Resources Mod - Vanilla Style [0.20.18+]

In 1 collection by Spectra
Spectra Color Coded Resource Mods
3 items
Description
This mod color-codes the natural resource icons that appear on the map and ship.

🟢 YELLOW BUG FIXED: Please, everyone give a big round of applause to @RustyDios <-MVP right there.👏👏👏👏
He was kind enough to share his findings and solution to the problem of the Yellow Resources.

The mod aims to improve the visual scanning of resources, as the original symbols can be difficult to read due to their small size.

Mod Compatible with [0.20.18+]

Resources modified:
  • Carbon
  • Copper
  • Gold
  • Hyperium
  • Iron
  • Sulfur
  • Tritanium
  • Uranium

Note:
The mod does not modify the actual resource values; it only adds color-coding for the respective resources.

Please leave any feedback if you use the mod.

Updated
Mod Compatible with [0.20.18+]
  • Custom resource icons have been added, which should be an improvement over the floating text.
  • The font face now matches the game's font face :)
  • (experimental) Squares are no longer flat (might revert to the flat version)

Important

Finding the perfect solution may take some time. In the meantime, I'll be releasing three different mod variations.

All will be linked to this one, allowing you to download and choose your preferred version. You can then toggle your desired version from the mod selection.

Feedback on these changes is appreciated :)

It's also possible you have multiple of THIS mod (the other styles?) installed at the same time, which is also not required, you only need one of them, despite them being linked as "required mods"

That error looks like either you have my mod running before this one (which should be now fixed as I removed the duplicated code from mine) .... or possibly you need to update your Cosmoteer.

What is happening is that something is removing the vertex color entry (or it does not exist because the game needs updating) before this mod can remove it.

I have had an error too starting the game. Not sure when it started, but unsubscribing and resubscribing to the 3 Color-Coded Resources Mod fixed it.

@腾龙灵梦 Do you have installed @RustyDios mod ? His mod is incompatible with mine at the moment. Disable it if you want to use my mod. We are looking into a fix

@腾龙灵梦 That's really odd. I didn't encounter any issues while testing the new patch. Is it still crashing? Could you try disabling other mods and running just my mod to check if it's specifically the one causing the problem?

Hello ~ Dear author, after the latest update of this MOD, clicking Enable will cause the game to start error and crash. Please fix this MOD~ I like this MOD very much :) ———— (this review is machine translation, grammar may have problems, please understand):steamhappy:

@goldmanguyperson Thank you for letting me know and sorry for the late reply, Busy end of month and early December. I'm exploring the issue, is caused by the new rare asteroids. I will get a fix by the end of next week.

v Carbon seems to have the same color as sulfur as well

The new update seems to have broken some of the colors for some reason. Gold, tritanium, and uranium all have the same color as sulfur now.

Could you make a mod that colors all the different allegiances (Player1, Player2, Player8, Neutral, etc.) differently in multiplayer sandbox when viewed from All Players? It's all just green blips fighting green blips in the vanilla game, gets a little confusing if you're trying to manage some kinda multipolar fleet war.
