Description
It always feels like there is no good spot to place PDs on larger ships without compromising armor, right?

Well, here is the mod to solve this issue.
Adds Single and Dual Point Defense Turrets to the game, with buyable blueprints.
- Actual turrets that shoot from over the roof!
- They have twice the power capacity of default vanilla - per barrel.
- vanilla PD energy consumption reduced 7 times per shot(35->5) to give AI a fighting chance.
- shot graphics is 0.25x smaller to lower game lag
- HEAVY turret now available to lower lag further: 0.5 fire rate, 2.2x damage, slightly faster moving shots

Notes:
Dual turret is actually quite amazing ;)
Would be great if someone used these to create new cool ship designs.

I retract my earlier comment. The crash was due to me accidentally leaving on a branched version of one of sir Evans other mods:
[branch mod "Weapon Turrets (Fixed Flak Turret Pathfinding)" steam workshop id 3446123152]

(sir Evans original mod is "[WIP]Weapon Turrets" steam workshop id 2891248440 and does NOT conflict with this mod though I hope whatever the issue with Flak was is fixed in the original mod)

I saved the crash logs but here is the issue: "Duplicate bullet ID 'evans.pd_turret_shot'." and this issue will happen if you enable this mod or sir Evan's [WIP]Weapon Turrets mod with the branch version of the turrets mod so very niche issue due to the branching.

it feels more fair that they block deck cannons and such because you can make little things with power storage and PD/independent flak canons

They should block things on the roof though. If want to have the benefits of turrets, you should handle the downsides as well.
