Husky YS100A v1.2

Description
Built in the years immediately following the Second World War, the Husky YS100A was a compact 0-4-0 steam switcher designed for efficiency in both construction and operation. It was built partially using leftover parts from both wartime steamers and a small selection of pre-war diesels, giving the YS100A a unique appearance unlike any other locomotive of the era.

The small switcher was quite powerful for its size, and was equipped with ditch lights and other "modern" features in an attempt to compete with the emerging diesel switcher market. Unfortunately, it also suffered from significant mechanical complexity due to the locomotive's extensive use of second-hand parts, which made maintenance and repair difficult. The YS100A ultimately sold poorly because of this deficiency and was discontinued after a very short production run, at which point most were simply scrapped.

However, a few examples escaped the scrapper's torch and found a second life on alpine short lines in the Rockies and elsewhere, where their fully enclosed all-weather cabs, reliable (when properly maintained) mechanical systems, and exceptional cab visibility made them the perfect locomotives for the steep switchbacks and rugged terrain. Indeed, the YS100As were so proficient at this role that many served for decades, and a few may even today be found in active service in more remote regions.

Includes

This pack includes a Train Mod of YS100A #131. Livery templates were originally included as Train Mod Liveries, but have been moved to the links available below.

Notes

This mod is a kitbash in its most literal form. Parts were arranged based on "hey, this kind of works," so when you look closely there's very little. Where are the pistons? What's the rear hood for? Why are there four air compressors? Why are there six ladders? These are very good questions that I do not have answers for, because there was zero thought put into making this a realistic or sensible design.

Credits

Literally everything on this is yoinked from one or more of the official locomotives. I take no credit for the original models, only for the modifications I have made to them.

Livery templates are available here (UV layout)[drive.google.com] and here (colored shapes)[drive.google.com].

Do not redistribute this mod or any of its assets without my express permission.
Permission is not required for liveries, spec edits, etc. as long as they are posted as Train Mod Liveries.

Sure, as long as you credit me for whatever parts you use.

can i make some liverys for this and also make a train mod with some parts from this and upload them?

Thanks! As I told Connie on another post of mine she was commenting on, I'm not going to delete any of the mods I've posted because they become dependencies for liveries other people create for them due to how the modding system works (which means that removing them would break those liveries made by other people). Plus, I make these because I want to, and it's fun.

Glad you enjoy it too!

it looks like shit

Well, I put a fair amount of work into making all of the different components go together without clipping or other issues, but at the end of the day it was made with the explicit goal of using parts from as many other things as possible, so there's very little that actually makes sense. It's quite a silly little guy :)
