Less dense asteroids

In 1 collection by SirCampalot
Extended Tech Tree Mod.
32 items
Description
This mod roughly halves the amount of asteroids in both the asteroid fields and the asteroid belt.

This can help with pathfinding and game performance and may be useful in combination with other mods that, in one way or another, enrich your mining experience.
This mod will work fine with my other mods like Mineable Megaroids, Mineable Dwarf Planets and Mineable Gigaroids since these mods use their own spawners.

This is also my first workshop upload and I use this as a test to see how the whole publishing thing works.

18 november 2022: Please update to the version 1.0.1 of this mod. Apparently the Cosmoteer version 0.20.23 which was released earlier today somehow broke compatibility with the 1.0.0 mod but the 1.0.1 version of this mod should work fine. I tested this earlier today by doing a test in which I decreased the density by 95% and all the asteroid fields had at most like 20 asteroids or so in them so I'm fairly sure the 1.0.1 version of this mod will work.

But apparently the 1.0.0 will not work anymore so please update to the 1.0.1 version.

Version 1.1.1 fixes an issue with asteroid fields not always spawning in properly.

Version 1.1.0 is patched to work with Cosmoteer 0.26.2 due to changes in how asteroids are spawned.
Previous versions of Cosmoteer will no longer work with this mod, but I'll upload a legacy version of this mod soon-ish.

Fix an issue with the game disabling this mod because of its version number. This has now been fixed (the mod should work fine regardless of which game version is used).

It will work once you spawn a new star system, which happens when you start a new game or move to a new star system. Old star systems won't be changed retroactively.

And thank you :)

Does this require a new game to work?

Thank you for your hard work!

I use my mods continuously and as of this patch they still work flawlessly :)

The game has micropatches every few days and for some reason it won't accept 0.20 nor 0.20.* as current version numbers anymore (as of writing the current patch is 0.20.22). So it will give this warning after every game micropatch even though the mod is not affected.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention.

TLDR It's an issue with how the game currently handles version numbering and not an issue with the mods.

hey i get a game popup that says it may not be compatible with the current game version, even though you made it just a few days ago.
