Sagami Railway Series 6000 Train Aluminum Alloy Car Body Test Car Moha 6021

This car is a prototype aluminum-alloy car body car manufactured based on the Series 6000, which has a steel car body.
Note that only one car was manufactured because it was a prototype.
It was given the form of Moha 6021 and operated incorporated into the steel-body Series 6000.
Since the paint scheme was not standardized, it was operated in a heterogeneous configuration, with only one car having an aluminum body mixed in.
In its later years, together with Saha 6621, it was incorporated into the new Series 6000 trains as a 10-car addition, and in 1998 it was discontinued for the last time as an ex-Series 6000 train.
It is currently preserved at the Kashiwadai Car Center along with the top number of the former Series 6000, and can be seen from outside the site.
It is in good condition and can be seen up close at events.

The aluminum body of the 6000 Series weighs about 4.5 tons less than that of the ordinary steel 6000 Series.
The result was that the car body could later be expanded without compromising the performance of older trains, and the Series 2000 and Series 5000, which had shorter car bodies and inferior transportation capacity, could be used.
The result was that the performance of the old trains could be expanded without losing the performance of the 2000 and 5000 Series, which had shorter car bodies and inferior transportation capacity.
Later Series 7000 cars were also manufactured as Series 6000 cars with aluminum bodies.

The aluminum body was accented with red, a color scheme that was carried over to the 7000, 8000, and 9000 series and became the new Sotetsu color scheme.

There are two types of Sotetsu cars: those that were not air-conditioned, and those that were air-conditioned and converted to shield beams.
appeared in 1967 and 1974, respectively.
